Every time I see a promotion for BanG Dream! I wonder how successful the show has really been, and although it still appears to be in the shadow of Love Live!, how soluble is it as a brand. I see projects on TOM, and articles about events associated with the series are still posting on ANN every now and then. Certain figures are still up for pre-order, and unlike Uma Musume, the premise does not seem as weird. I'm not a fan of idols or idol-themed anime, but if someone who is can provide perspective on this, I'd really appreciate it.

Expo seems packed this year. I can't wait for the convention report, as I am stuck at home, but maybe next year will be the year.

I'm in your camp as well. I see s lot of advertisement for BandG but don't really see followers.

AX can be a great time. Hope you make it next year. However, I don't think it's stacked this year. Last year we'd more premieres, more movies, more concerts. I think AX might have gotten greedy with Anisong's revenue distribution and it isn't happening this year. I'm gong to the love live concert but there should be 3-4 more concerts and other activities. I'm worried that I won't have a great time this year.

I think BanG Dream's first anime did nothing to really sell the franchise, and came out too early. It seemed to really pick up with the game getting popular, especially with my friends once the English version came out - I personally like how you can play the songs as long as you like unlike some other mobile rhythm games. The live concerts having the seiyuu for a couple of the bands actually play their instruments is pretty nice as well. (wish I could have caught the delayed live viewings earlier this year in NYC, but timing didn't work out)

Overall the cult of Bushiroad is growing stronger with Revue Starlight, so I hope the popularity keeps up. It's popular enough to turn a big card game event into something closer to a convention at least (CharaExpo). Hopefully the concert viewings did well enough for Azoland to bring them to North America again.

As for AX, I'm also disappointed that AWM or something similar isn't happening - but I'll be able to catch the Live Live concerts at least. There are some other guests I want to see, but I do with there was a bit more this year.

So the only 2 guests of any interest for me this year are Range Murata and Yoshiyuki Sadamoto. If we rewind back to 2005 I'd probably have been more excited about seeing Murata-sensei, but not real into his artwork like I was.

As for AX.. I am dissapointed in the lack of concerts.. no AniSong and instead we get Idols and Yoshihiro Ike: Anime Soundtrack World.. which looking at what he worked on there is nothing except maybe Comic Party Revolution that I would care to hear. so blah.

AX looks to be a bust this year guest wise barring any last minute announcements, and smaller cons seem to be getting better guests.
