And it only took them 9 years to finally get around to it. But thank you once again, Devilman Crybaby for giving Yuasa some real recognition and popularity power.

A dub would have been the cherry on top but I'm not going to look a gift horse in the mouth. Been waiting to own this show in physical form for so long, and I'm so glad we finally can.

Day one pre-order for me, so happy most of Yuasa's work is available to own, from Funimation licensing Ping Pong the Animation years ago, Discotek's Kaiba blu-ray, GKIDS multiple films, etc... Now I just need Netflix to get on Devilman Crybaby already.

I don't really mind that there's no dub (although I would have really admired the effort). Its a pretty niche title that's almost a decade old, plus a pretty difficult show to adapt on top of that. I can't blame them for doing a sub-only release. Plus, the lack of a dub lowers the price of the blu-ray.

... Am I dreaming? Funimation actually realized that they have Tatami Galaxy and gave it a physical release?

Gotta go preorder it then, stat.

I said it elsewhere, but I'd like to think I had a bit to do with this, because I literally ordered Anime Limited's set all of a week ago thinking it'd be the only way I'd ever own the series. Whoops. Razz

this has already been released, siren visual years back.

Put a dub track on it if ur gonna release so late, toradora got redeemed for the dub track, that was excellent even better than the original sub imo. i watched both.

watching tatami is a rewind and pause fest, cant focus on visuals n subs without pausing rewinding, dialogie is like 3x times normal speed.

Fixed because they're the only ones who can.

I don't care for their prices myself but for a Go Nagai title, I would bite.

Well, that only took forever and a day...

But that's okay. Just happy to have it at all! Given its rather esoteric nature, I'm on board with a sub-only release.

Ah, finally. I have a subtitled DVD imported from England (before they went out of print), but it would be nice to be able to have a domestic version.

Now I guess we'll have to start asking for Kemonozume.

Eh. I’m still a tad salty about it not getting a dub, but I’m also glad it’s getting a proper release. And who knows? Maybe high enough sales will convince them to do a dub, just like with Nichijou.

I was about to point this out. It had been avaliable in English with a UK release. I actually got it earlier this year in a second hand store when I was in the country for a visit. But a US release is nice.

And I think this happening more because of Night Walk Up getting recognition than anything to do with Devilman.

I was pretty surprised to see this in RS's email considering I hadn't heard it was licensed before. Nice to see that it is finally coming out here.

I wonder if they are using my subtitles from back when I did their simulcast, or the updated version I did for the Australian (and UK, I believe) dvd/bluray releases, which also include the 3 mini OVAs and documentary special, or maybe just like, ignoring them all and redoing them which would be a shame...

The original simulcast subs, though pretty good, did have some flaws that I fixed in the dvd releases...

I've been waiting for this for a long time. There's finally movement on the Morimi novels (Penguin Highway/Yoru wa Mijikashi releasing in English) and it's nice to see The Tatami Galaxy coming out on BR here as well. I'm hopeful that the novel version will follow in English soon enough.
