This was very unexpected news and I wonder what lead Nozomi to partner with Funimation. If they include the Utena dub maybe I'll watch more of it as I've only ever seen it subbed besides like one episode dubbed. This will also be a good chance to watch the original Boogiepop after having seen the reboot earlier this year. I've also never seen Yakitate Japan so I'll have to check that out. I hope they can eventually add the Aria dub. Aria is one of my favorites and I would love to see the dub.

Still good things can come of this, maybe they'll give Utena a new dub now...

Cool! I just happen to finally break down and get a Funimation subscription this season for Dumbbells and Astra Lost in Space (as well as for Arifureta and Bem if Crunchy doesn't get those by the time they air).
In my 20+ years of being into anime, I have yet to check out Utena. Having enjoyed Sarazanmai last season, I think I might be ready to watch Ikuhara's OG artsy-fartsy series soon.

Utena is by far Ikuhara's most accessible series, but even if you feel like you're getting lost in all the symbolism, there are definitely a few "here's what you missed" blogs hanging around for that series; Josei Next Door has their Utena Watch Party, which is specifically spoiler-free.

That's cool. From time to time I'll see something that reminds me that Right Stuf does some streaming through Youtube, but I've never looked into that since I keep forgetting. Having it on a subscription I use regularly is a nice addition.

They already have Iron-Blooded Orphans and Build Divers, so Right Stuff letting them stream other Seasons is not too far off.

I think this is more so that Nozomi wants a larger streaming platform for their titles as most of their shows were limited only to their YouTube channel before. This deal will get them more viewers.

Discotek has already been adding a lot more of their content to Crunchyroll so they seem to already have a de facto deal with them .

Does Nozomi even have those rights? Sunrise seems to handle all Gundam streams themselves.

penquindrum is his most accessible series as it doesn't even have his most common festishes excused into the plot. My feeling on Ikuhara is that you either have to be into what he's into or you have to have the ability to ignore it.
As to the subject at hand, I'm curious where Aria is. For a "please buy our stuff" move, this is a pretty inert catalogue selection.

Ehhh, I don't know what you watched to say that so matter-of-factly. My ex and I tried watching Penguindrum back when it came out and weren't able to get past episode two. Even with all of its butt-stuff, I honestly found Sarazanmai to be a more accessible series.
