If by "hard mode" they mean "hardcore mode" (i.e. no respawning), then sounds like he's taking a reasonable approach. Too many isekai characters seem to want to rely on plot armour rather than preparation and caution.

The only thing with the description is he might be spending too many resources (stamina, mana, whatever) in his attacks in an attempt to get combat over with as quickly as possible. That's fine if you've got time to rest up, but eventually you'll be stuck in a running battle, so learning the most effective and efficient application of force is important.

Looks like it'll be pretty hilarious. Along the lines of approaching every battle like it's a life or death situation even if he could probably ONE HIT KO most of the opponents. There's such a thing as being cautious and then there's being cautious to a crippling degree, lol.

If I recall correctly I remember something about him buying multiple sets of equipment, one to use, one as back-up and one to be a spare to the back-up. Either way it looks like it's going to be good fun.

I believe it's hard mode more in terms of strength and time limit. I believe the goddess has to protect the world within a certain time period and stop a certain thing from destroying the world, but she's under really harsh conditions, so it's more that it's a hard mode for her, whereas other goddesses get really easy peaceful worlds to look after.
