i read through that scene in volume 11 a while back(I've yet too see the anime version) and it was pretty intense...its a sensible choice if they want too keep a T rating...

Sometimes not showing things makes it more naughtier. Like the Toonami version of Fire Force made it naughtier by not showing what happened(and yes I am well aware that the Fire Force scene is nowhere near as serious as this but an example that sometimes Censorship makes things worse not better). But it depends on how exactly they handle it for this game. Like they could make it more tame or it could make it worse.

But the anime revels on rape content. I agree that the rating is probably the reason why sexual assault is being tone down in the game. |

I didn't realize we got an extra censored version streamed here. That is kind of disappointing to think they're sneaking that in. I expected to get the same censorship that broadcasts get, but that we got extra cuts made came as a surprise. I wonder if the US disc release is censored... Given they charge Japanese prices for discs, getting a lesser version is pretty inexcusable.
As for the game, that is clearly a bunch of crap. You can't both admit it to be an important scene and then say you will leave the central part out while being faithful. I'm not going to buy the game so I don't really care whether they leave it, but Futami should man the hell up and admit he doesn't care about being faithful because he finds the scene to inappropriate to show / they want a Teen rating. |

I hate censorship. How about making two releases one is censored and one is uncensored ?? I bet the majority would buy uncensored version

i dont know what people expect anymore...is censorship a new trigger word that fun for people too decry now? I cant remember the last game i got or am getting that people dont whine censorship

It's not censorship to choose not to depict something when adapting it. Or is it censorship that they didn't film the scouring of the shire for the movies? If you want to watch someone getting raped, watch the tv show.

Actually, if you wanna watch someone getting raped you are better off watching something else... in SAO no one get raped, just attempted raped only to fail in the end. plus its like 3 scene out of 75+ EP. (will reach 100 EP with season 3 continuing next month) |

*laughs in Sony* Same reason Quinella isn't naked in the games like she is in the anime. Sony would never allow half the stuff in the series to grace their console and they want that kid-friendly rating.
What about tights? I remember people who care about social justice got mad and started photoshopping pants on Kasumi's design because they called it sexist a gymnast wore a gymnast leotard, but that wasn't in the actual game. That was people getting mad at the sight of a woman's legs and being dumb. As far as I know nothings been officially changed yet, although I woudln't be surprised if Royal does get censored given the way Sony is these days.
It's censorship if they remove it specifically due to ratings issues or social pressure. Jackson changing tons of stuff in LOTR is just him dumbing things down for movie audiences who probably finds stuff like Tom Bombadil dumb or Scouring of the Shire takes away from the Hollywood action movie ending if there were more battles to fight after the ring was destroyed and it wasn't suddenly all peaceful. |
