Even at just barely over five minutes, the characters can veer off-model in still shots and designs get simplified to bare minimum recognition. As long as the hair is blue, viewers know its Subaru even if he's more blob than stud. The deviation isn't so horrendous as to be distracting, but it's very far from consistent.

Haven't seen this show yet, though I did get both seasons from Right Stuf's Holiday Sale, but I do know that Hiroshi "aho_boy" Ikehata got his start as a notorious gif animator-turned-episode director with a penchant for being considered a wild card, so I'm going to imagine that the "off-model" & "simplified" visuals are completely intentional, as part of the humor. As they say online, "It's a feature, not a bug", though I can fully understand that it'd rub some people the wrong way.

Still, glad to read a positive review for this show. I am interested in checking it out, one day.

(Note, I don't tend to go to Sakugabooru myself, but that is one of the places that actually goes into Ikehata's style.)

Obviously you gave the dub a B but how did you feel about the different voice actors and such?

One absolutely ridiculous thing is that the "villain" Escalade Cadillac is voiced by Shūichi Ikeda, Gundam's Char Aznable himself, doing a parody of Char's voice. He delivers a direct parody of Gihren Zabi's Sieg Zeon speech in one episode.
