I thought Sanrio is done with the Jewelpet franchise.
Not that I mind, just surprised.

I have a feeling there will soon be a new Jewelpet anime being broadcast in Japan in addition to the Mewkledreamy series that was announced earlier this year. Sanrio realized that the Jewelpet characters were more liked since that Rilu Rilu Fairilu franchise bombed.

I think the reason Jewelpet is more liked is they are real cute animals compared to fairies.

Personally, I'm more interested in Kukurireige. An anime set in China.... gives me vibes of the 1998 Mulan movie Disney made 21 years ago (My god, I cannot believe it's been that long!).

Also yes, Jewelpets are probably Sanrio's cutest and most distinctive designs to date, I wonder why the franchise was put on hold (and maybe going to stay there too).

That's exactly what I meant, my apologies for the typo. I definitely agree with the designs, especially when it comes the there Jewel Eyes with which they use their magic, like that scene in Lady Jewelpet in which the character Luea (Blue Apatite) discovers her representing mineral.
