Besides UK and Ireland, as usual -- not in most European countries. AGAIN.

Huh, it's pretty rare to see a show picked up by multiple streaming services, usually they bid for exclusive access. Perhaps Aniplex felt they could secure more money by selling non-exclusive licenses that would require a higher cost for streaming the episodes before their competitors? I'm very interested in how that deal took place.

Crunchyroll is the only one of those with proper bitrate so the few days wait after Funi is worth it. Hidive's quality (2 Mbps for 1080p) completely removes them from the competition.

Aniplex just likes to stream their shows on as many platforms as they can.

I wonder if going forward Funimation is going to get same day simulcasts from Aniplex USA, and the rest of the services will get them delayed.

Plus, they have been selling streaming rights to several services for years.

So CR and HiDive will be a week behind how the show airs in Japan?

That must have been an interesting bidding war and Funimation managed to get a week of exclusive access to the Magia Record anime. Aniplex seems to be into the idea of selling short exclusive licensing deals for their shows and I wonder how common this will be for them in future seasons.

^I don’t think it was a bidding war so much as Funi and Aniplex sharing a parent company. I fully expect Aniplex titles will steam first on Funi and then other sites a week after.

For the first week. And then further episodes will air on CR "a few days after the Japanese broadcast." So it seems like Funi will only have a couple days of exclusivity beyond the first episode.

Won't Europe have Wakanim, Anime on Demand, etc? Or wherever Aniplex shows usually stream in Europe.

Yup, Wakanim will stream the show starting January 4. So it's basically the same situation on both sides of the ocean (assuming CR's license includes countries served by Wakanim).

I hate that Funimation is forcing Aniplex to delaycast this series on other streaming platforms, really considering pirating it even though I have a paid crunchyroll subscription. Not because I can't wait (lately there has been lots of anime I watch) but because crunchyroll pays more money to aniplex for every watch and I do not condone delaycasting, specially in my region where funimation/sony has no anime streaming platform at all.

I am sure Bang Zoom! will do the dub of this brand-new anime.
