Another Love Live anime?

It could be a short or spinoff though.

Wait, what? I would have assumed the casting was for a new member to add to the cast of the Love Live Nijigasaki Academy TV anime announced last month, but it's actually for an entire new TV series in addition to that one...? Confusing, if they were going to announce two separate TV series they should have done it like Strike Witches and announced both at once.

So the auditions are for the first member of the cast or for the one and only member of the cast?

Why??
Its such a clear attempt to milk the franchise as much as possible by continuously releasing Love Live with new characters.
Cant wait to see 5 more releases like these in the next 20 years! Wink

I don't think the format has been announced yet, so it could be a movie or some shorts (but I doubt the latter). Also it's only about one role, so my guess is it's going to be a "crossover" movie - putting it in quotes since all Love Live takes place in the same universe - where the new girl might be a fan of all 3 schools and takes place after the Nijigasaki one. But I'm ready to eat my own words obviously Smile

EDIT: OK I'm dumb, it's a TV anime of course, I can't read lol

This kind of stuff being milked makes more sense than most franchises, simply because they can always use a new group.
For all I know is that this if at least an idol franchise featuring girls that actually has nice production values, so pretty unique in that regard.

This is not surprising, though timing is tad closer than usual. Between recruitment, concerns and actual anime is two years, as last three groups have followed this pattern, I would assume Hello!!! LoveLive! actual anime would not debut before 2023. This leaves 2020 through mid-2021 for two seasons of anime, and 2022 for graduation movie. Gives new group two years of establishing itself with fanbase through various concerns shows and events while current series does thing. Meanwhile Aquor will slowly disband as muse same done.

I am thinking season 1 airs in 2021, season 2 in 2022 and a movie in 2023 if the previous format is kept.
