Congrats for this incredible milestone. Forget about the Wii U era, Nintendo is back!

Unbelievable how many are willing to pay over 50% more than the reasonable price, well there are idiots who pay over 1k$ for a phone as well I guess.
Only because of people who support this bullshit do we still have, and let's be honest, always gonna have companies who will try to sell garbage for the price of gold. Not saying the Switch is garbage, just that it's massively overpriced, more than ever.
I'm really starting to think I have to skip the Switch altogether, a real shame, well mainly because of Animal Crossing.

Reasonable price based on what exactly? $299 is not a lot of money for a console. Or you can get the $199 Lite instead of you want. Buy it or don't. It's not a big deal

Based on hardware for example? The Switch uses mostly worse hardware than the PS4 and XBOX One (no the screen isn't that expensive) and it's still more expensive than both and not even a little bit. And don't get me started on the Lite, that should be even cheaper and not as expensive as a PS4/XBOX One.
It's mainly a matter of principles, I'm not a fan of getting ripped off. And because of people who shove their money up Nintendo's ass it's probably going to stay this way.

If there are portable variations of parts to achieve the specs of the PS4 and Xbox One, Nintendo could probably go that route, but then the Switch will most likely end up being on par with a $400+ to $500+ mid-range smartphone. That would be a pricey hybrid console to sink your money into which I don't think everyday consumers would like.

I never said it should have the specs of a PS4/XBOX, the specs are totally fine as they are. The estimated costs per unit were at 257$, at least that's what everybody reported back in 2017, no matter how you break it a 300$ price tag was never justified and of course isn't after almost 3 years.
Even with the new Animal Crossing themed Switch they still insist on 299$.

$300USD is a reasonable price range for the Switch. Nintendo has a good track record of manufacturing reasonably-priced consoles and handhelds, since it's their business model. I don't see how you could say it isn't a good mark-up price even after mentioning the estimated per unit costs.
For perspective, the 3DS was priced at $249 and the Vita at $249 and $299 respectively. Even after 3 years, I do not believe costs would've decreased considerably due to the fact that the Switch has more going on on the inside in comparison to other current-gen consoles.

Sure let's ignore the Wii U that was also overpriced as hell... and how is the 3DS different if the Vita costs the same?
For perspective, the PS4 was down from 400$ to 200$ after 3 years (with almost as good sales already in 2015), almost the same with the XBOX One and again both have higher specs than the Switch. Heck I can even get the pro and X versions for the same or maybe even lower price than the Switch.
Don't know what you mean with "more going on on the inside"?
Bad enough that so many people support this, but how someone can defend this is beyond me.
