As someone who's enjoyed reading monster manuals and similar lore books in the past, I quite enjoy learning about this aspect of a fantasy world you usually don't get a perspective on.

I consider "cowgirl" mine since I posted it elsewhere yesterday Smile (not really, it was obvious), but how about MilkMaid?? Anyway, got a kick out of the premise of reviews being posted (literally) and the bar patron's reactions to them. Sounds familiar...BTW, maybe me but the Op sounds like an adaptation of "In the Navy".

A show about two alpha guys on a quest to rate monster girl prostitutes is definitely one of the more eyebrow raising ideas for a fanservice show. Zel and Stunk are assertive, confident, and fairly heroic since when they heard that someone was in danger they immediately rushed to help them. Zel is the smooth talker of two while Stunk might be former nobility but he is rather blunt. Stunk obviously has a crush on the Bird Maid Meidri which is why he keeps flirting with her but his crude sense of humor just makes her angry. This is a very mature show that won't be everyone but if you are into fanservice shows and monster girls than it is worth taking a look.

The first two episodes have been great at world building. Since it mainly takes place in the tavern and the brothel district it was surprising how the series keeps steadily dropping details about the overall world. That the orc party keeps winning elections because their party platform is cheap food, low taxes, and fornication might be crudely worded but it is a reasonable working class platform. In contrast the demon lord and demon campaign manager are naive technocrats whose party platform is technological progress which was an amusing twist. That their plan to improve the demons public image fell apart because the adventurers noticed the minotaur brothel next door was hilarious. Also the amusing educational segments at the end of each episode are very nicely done.

Truly the most wholesome of anime. Even the op is basically saying, "Come and let us partake in our hobby together, fellow men of culture". Jokes aside, I like the manga a lot and the show is adapting it more or less perfectly, though unfortunately, the actual reviews have to be summarized for the sake of screen time. That's only a minor detail though; it barely detracts from the strength of the adaptation. One thing I found unexpected about the story is that even if the basis of the friendship between three main characters is having fun in the red light district, the friendship between Stunk, Zel, and Crim still feels genuine even if not much about their back stories or activities outside of sex aren't elaborated on. That's probably due to how well they play off of each other.

In any case, if you're shocked by episode 2, you haven't seen anything yet. It's not as if each manga chapter tries to be more controversial than the last, but they go pretty far into deviant territory. Not really in the sense of undoubtably immoral acts like brutal violence, but more in the sense of "I did not need to know there was a fetish for that".

I can agree with everything about the review except for the idea this show doesn't want you the viewer to think.

I'd say it wants you to ponder, to question and above all to imagine people interacting with beings who are not the same as they are. Not much of a big deal in the USA but in Japan, the intended metaphor gets across a little easier, right?

Or should I just directly say what the penis measuring scene refers to?

I can say this series hits closer to home about my notions of humanity interacting with nonhuman intelligent species: "Can I eat it or can I have sex with it? How can I exploit them?" would eventually come up if we're not killing one another outright.

Funny and if it has some character development, it could become a great show but so far, it's good.

I'd say the uncensored/censored distinction is kinda unnecessary, it's a comedy show, not a borderline hentai with light beam censorship. This kind of fanservice works better in manga, but here? There are no sex scenes, so the uncensored nudity seems like a cash grab for the station that airs uncensored version and/or BDs.

That this show has that level of ecchi content AND looks rather decent makes it probably anime of the year. And it's uncensored and some versions even showed straight up vagina in the opening. I hope we get more anime like this going forward, as hentai anime have been a major let down for years now. And correct me if I'm wrong, but I can't remember genitals in non ero anime, if even pubic hair outside of Armitage, Perfect Blue, and Gunbuster.

This show is basically the culmination of what I've wanted in anime, lots of of ridiculous nudity and outlandish concepts, but also grounded in a way where not every girl or guy is embarrassed over what they're doing. Aside from Meidri, who's just getting sexually harassed, everything else is sex positive, good natured, and pro-prostitution.

Aloe is best girl. She alone in her cracked out veteran mannerisms has brought the concept of fairy as viable to the forefront, which mirrors exactly what the Bros are doing in-series.

There are several aspects to this show but Interspecies Reviewers is a fanservice show where a significant percentage of it does relate to sex. I think the only reason they didn't use light beams is because they wouldn't have been sufficient and so far this show is more heavily censored than the broadcast version of The Testament of Sister New Devil. Also I think the level of censorship does get distracting when over half of the screen is getting censored and it is a pity that Funimation didn't get the license for the uncensored version.

Of COURSE the madam who measures the penis size of the patrons is voiced by Yoko Hikasa.
