I always loved the Miyu stories. I was so sad when Studio Ironcat went out of business and stopped publishing them. I'd love to finish the stories, even in digital form.

I agree with you.I would love to read the entire series.I really liked the OVA.The tv show was good. But that is my opinion on that.

The OAV was wonderfully creepy at times. The puppet episode was particularly good.

The manga (what little of it I've read) is wonderfully atmospheric, with beautiful art that fits into shoujo traditions.

It kind of makes me wish there was a manga equivalent to Discotek, able to mine the older manga titles.

I think that Ironcat actually did finish the sequel series New Vampire Miyu. At least, ANN lists the series as 5 volumes and I do own 5 volumes in English. I'd be happy to submit the ISBN info or whatever when the release scraper problem for the encyclopedia gets remedied.

It would be great to see Miyu's various manga get published again one day, though. At least there's actual hope nowadays. There isn't a dedicated publisher of older manga series, but all sorts of things are getting rescued or brought over for the first time by all sorts of publishers. Seven Seas brought us Dragon Half, Yamato, Harlock, Devilman, and Cutie Honey; Udon is finally getting those Rose of Versailles volumes out the door; Viz is giving us Jojo, Utena, Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne, and Urusei Yatsura again; Kodansha is putting out fancy editions for Sailor Moon, Alita, Cardcaptor Sakura, and Rayearth; Drawn & Quarterly is still giving us more Mizuki goodness like Kitaro... there's all sorts of possible options now. Dark Horse even brought back What's Michael and I never thought that would happen.

Maybe some sort of project related to one of the newer manga will kick off renewed interest in the IP. I'll just read my old Ironcat volumes in the meantime and hope I'll get to read more later.
