PC player here, i regret playing it at launch and rushing through the game before they release some bugs resolutions, i lost at least 7-8h because of numerous crash and those fps drop ruined the very few funny moments i had.

Gameplay-wise the similar Hollow Realization was much better, fights were faster and we had spell bar with multiple lines instead of being limited to 4(5) skills and 4 buffs, Lycoris's fight always felt awfully unvarying because of that, also this tankiness ... early game mobs in Lycoris felt like late game stronger than average mobs in any other SAO game, i'd like to know what they were drinking when they though it was acceptable.

Anyway i don't have much hope for the DLC unless they revamp pretty much all the mechanisms.

I'm surprised you even got to chapter 2 just within 5hours to unlock co-op and character customization? Average of what I saw to get there was ~12hs and myself it took 18ish hours because i spend most of my time actually fishing and doing statue quests. No wonder you also found the combat a drag if all you did was press 1 button for 10mins.The game, just like how HR was, is build around SSC where the actual problem of the combat lies in is that the AI is super bad and they feel like a chore to use, you can sort of learn them but it doesn't change how bad it is.

Storywise I thought it was fine albeit I do agree with all the cutscenes and loading screens that just take you out of it. having a half hour of story followed by a 5min fight followed by another half hour of story is indeed not fun at all. There's also hardly any auto save points which they did try and address in a patch but there's still not enough.

the endgame raids they added in the latest patch have actually been pretty fun to do for me.

I think they limited the amount of skills and buffs so they wouldn't repeat the mistake of EX dancing like how it was in HR.

But is sure isn't that good a game and i wish it was more like FB which was super fun to play.

Being able to skill connect quickly for minutes without having to temporize due to stacking multiple buffs from multiple weapon skill tree was for me the funniest part of HR gameplay, i expected to be able to do so in Lycoris too so the new limited interface and skills with very long animation / animation end lag was really frustrating. Beside the forest one the raids were rather good but after 4-5 runs each i couldn't stand them anymore.

FB was certainly the funniest sao game i've played, another extension would have been preferable.

EX dancing was just really shit imo, in return they buffed mob and boss hp so if you didn't ex dance you would spend a long time on a fight. Though I do think that if they could make the AI better and make it so that you don't have to manually make the AI use skills (the combo chain code helps a lot for it but doing it manual is still faster) would help a fair bit.

Yep rather had more FB content or perhaps just more HR content which while I do hate ex dancing the game was still better for the most part.

I might have missed it in the review but surprised there wasn't anything about the sao shop where you'll be able to buy stuff with irl money or the lootbox system aka CUBE.

I checked and these games are like released yearly.

They should really give them more time in the oven than just releasing them instead of like out of an assembly line.
