I seen the announcement live on Botan's channel, poor Nene and Lamy, their souls were crushed at the announcement. There has to be something to do about the antis, well there is one thing, supporting the remaining four, hopefully they'll get back to streaming soon.

Feel bad for the actress, as well as the designer and modeler and all the hard work everyone put into her only for her to be forced to "graduate" after like one video because her manager did a bad job.

I hope the actress will feel better now that she's stepped out of the limelight. Vtuber world seems super stressful and scary these days so it's no surprise she didn't want to keep doing it. Really can't blame her after all the crap she endured straight from the beginning.

Anyone that's read my comments in the previous articles knows how hyped I was for her. Gen 5 is the first Generation for me that I was there at the start of. It was the one I could say "I was there from the beginning". Mano Aloe herself I was instantly attracted to when I saw her joking around on Twitter after her Twitter restriction was fixed. She seemed like a bundle of fun. Then she debuted. She sang, told us her dreams, and asked for us to cheer her on. She wanted us to see her right horn grow to match her left as she matured. She, Mano Aloe and she, the seiyuu, both had a rather simple dream of becoming a singer. They just wanted to share their voice with the world. I can't understand why anyone would do the things they did to her. I don't know why they couldn't simply NOT WATCH her. Ignoring her existence would've been easy for them. But instead they went and ruined her career, her dream, and possibly her life.

I don't want to speculate but they said she's not mentally prepared. It makes me assume she took heavy mental damage from the doxxing and harassment. She prepared for a long time for this dream only to have it destroyed. I really hope that someday she can live her dream somehow. I saw everything the antis complained about. NONE of it was harmful to anyone. Mano Aloe really did nothing wrong.

My fear is that her career is dead because her voice is so unique. Even if she gets another body, people will know it's her and possibly attack her again. My wish is that they forget about her and someday in the future she can come back, either as Mano Aloe or some other character. Whatever the case, I hope she can become a singer somehow. She deserves to be happy. She deserves to be a Happy Synthesizer.

I'll never forgive the antis for this. There's really no excuse for their behavior. Cover has also removed all her tweets and videos, as well as her reddit flair. I wish they left it all up, just locked and the flair should be usable forever. Erasing her isn't the way to go.

I feel so sorry for her... I got pretty disillusioned that even in 2020 agencies like this aren't able to protect and back their own performers but instead leave them to the blood-thirsty fanatics as easy prey for ridiculous reasons.

It won't matter anymore but this saddening outcome makes me want to draw some fanarts of her to pay her respects...

I apologize if I’m completely out of line because I haven’t been following the story, but isn’t this just some publicity stunt for the remaining crew? Surely this was planned from the start, if only to add verisimilitude by bringing in toxic fan behavior?

Or was all the toxicity aimed at the real people behind the character?

The fact that they haven't addressed the harassment is disappointing. It is clear that this was not the first case that this happened, and will not be the last time. Cover needs to show that they have learned their lesson before they can gain the full trust of its customers.

So, it's worth mentioning that, unlike in many places where any publicity is good publicity, in Japan bad publicity is just bad publicity. Companies go to great lengths to avoid it and when it happens they try to hide it as much as possible.
In the official announcements and when other members talked about Aloe, nobody mentions the harassment she is going through, her suspension, or any details of the issue.
Whenever something like this happened in the past, the remaining members were "advised" to not even bring up the member that left, to avoid bad memories.

The 5th Gen's debut were the most highly publicized and hyped event this summer for the vtuber sphere, over 100k people were watching everyone's debut stream and were showering them in money since the first week.
Everything that happened for Aloe has soured the fan's experience and made a lot of people weary of Cover Corp, since they've failed in protecting their talents again.
So, if this was a publicity stunt, it's backfired pretty hard, at least in the short term.

About the toxicity, this was entirely aimed at the real person behind the character.
She got doxxed and haters have been calling her house and sending her hate messages. Eventually getting what they wanted, since many were happy that her online life is very much over after this.

At this point I don't expect Cover to do better, they failed 2 times before this, and this time the target of harassment didn't have enough backup from management. Her 2 week break made it worse, she had no contact with the fans that were actually supporting her, so after two weeks of, I imagine, constant harassment she couldn't take it anymore and decided to work things out with Cover and retire. If things were that bad, it only makes sense, theres so much a person can take after all.
In any case, i hope she can distance herself from this, find a new place and move on.

A person gets harassed and doxxed to the point that she quits her job and the company practically does nothing or does a poor job in supporting her, and you don't see the "big deal"? Yikes...
