I don't know if 12 episodes is enough to cover the Xenos arc without it feeling rushed. I think 13-15 episodes might have been better, but we'll see.

No I think its enough. Because they skipped directly to Bell's meeting with Wiene they covered nearly 1/3 of vol 9 in a single episode. The Xenos arc is 3 vols long. If they divvy it up evenly then the entire arc can be covered easily.

Sure but even the first episode felt rushed.

Love Live! Nijigasaki is streaming on Funimation, not Crunchyroll.

You shouldnt be surprised by that at this point. Still if they have an episode or 2 left they might dedicate it to something else as long as it isnt another anime original or maybe they can animate the events of vol 12 if they cover the Xenos arc in 9 eps.

Not so sure about that. Vol 9 is the shortest of the 3 volumes in the xenos arc while vol 11 is the longest. I don't think each volume is going to get the same number of episodes. For example, if v9 is adapted in 3 eps then v11 might get 5.

Also, as I recall, volume 12 starts another multi-volume arc, so realistically, season 3 should only be the Xenos Arc.

Technically it’s both. Funimation seems to be the main distributor, but CR is also streaming it in some parts of Europe.

Meanwhile, I’m still waiting for the episode count on Higurashi before I decide whether or not It might be worth me picking up. If they haven’t committed to at least 24 episodes then I probably won’t bother.

If so then my original point still stands. That 12 eps would be enough for the Xenos arc

No arguments there Cool , I agree 12 should be enough. Although 13 would have given more breathing space

This planned breakdown is probably exactly what they're doing, since they only have 12 episodes; they would have needed a 13th episode to take novel 9 at a more relaxed pace. . Assuming this is the case, I think we can expect episode 2 to end with the scene where spoiler[Bell gets the mission].

I mean of they wanted to they could have padded out the season using content from the SO novels. Specifically Volume 10.

Hmm, is Dec. for the first BD and March for the last BD quicker than usual? I wonder if the delay in airing is helping to get the discs out sooner.

Not really, because what's happening on the SO side would not make as much sense without the context of what else has been going on in SO that Bell and Hestia Familia aren't associated with.
