Could this be due to the studio deciding to finish the full cour before airing more in hope of foregoing another break as they know that this adaptation is now mean to go on for ages?
The manga sells close to a million per volume. The source´s runaway success gives them certain job security. Seinen adaptations that approach 100 eps are VERY rare and this one will easily hit the mark during S3.
