That's disappointing. Hard pass for me. Despite some major flaws I enjoyed the first arc of SAO and was looking forward to a (hopefully) better retelling.

I don't see the problem with making SAO Progressive into a movie(or series of movies in this one does well).

People here are talking cause the series will be in movie format it will be botched or ruined...like cmon the movie is adapting just the first volume if they do i tlike so this could be great. like give it a chance.

It could even adapt only a half of the first volume, considering the movie's title.

While its plausible this could give us a proper adap and not leave out much or anything, I am not thrilled about it becus its not likely and further more its not ok with me if there's movies to finish the rest of it. If there was EVER a time where I would agree that they're milking the franchise, let it be said this is the one time i agree with people who say that. A movie was not needed, a series was. This sucks. Esp the long wait time for the English Dub given how movies are holed up for 9ish months in theaters b4 we get em here... (In most cases)
I mean I'll still watch it, big fan of the series, but, I am not pleased they did the movie route when a series would've adapted much more and been preferred route for the fans. (Again, movie could adap it all esp if there's multiple movies but I am not going to believe that until it happens, excuse me for being skeptical...)

I mean, there are financial incentives to keep franchise interest alive for as long as they can. Esp. when Kawahara has just started writing the Unital Ring arc.
