Well, this will give Yuasa all sorts of attention. Maybe next time he makes a film, it could possibly get nominated for an Academy Award.

Can we have a home video release and a dub now please? CR seriously made a huge mistake not simuldubbing this and choosing In/Spectre instead.

Don't really need Western outlets weighing in.

So you are against anime become even more mainstream and socially acceptable? Because that is what you seem to be implying.

I probably wouldn't count on it. I recall NYT having A Place Further Than The Universe on their list a few years ago and that still hasn't gotten a dub or home video release.

Man, I sure do love a guy who created the series originally who uses photo-realistic nude drawings of little children as "reference", getting recognition and an article posted about him without bringing up that.

That's not always a good thing, though. Look at the situation ChibiGoku brought up. The Eizouken mangaka was harassed and attacked by English twitter users awhile back when they found out they followed some erotic artists on Pixiv. It's not seen as a big issue in Japan since R-18 artists crossover with general works quite often, but here in America western artists have been cancelled for such incidents.

Okay we just out here lying now. From the ANN article:

Quote:
I followed 3D artists whose work I thought was good for referential material without knowing about the illicit content, that is, until people overseas certified that it is pedophilia.

I take this as that the guy followed some people who were good artists who also made lewd content without taking time to go down a rabbit hole of images related to images that unemployed people on Twitter can. At no point did he reference using those specific images for reference.

Crunchyroll had some hand in producing IN/SPECTRE, so it might have been more a contractual obligation than a choice, but it sure would be great if Eizouken could get a dub.

It won’t be there for long, but you think the HBO Max overlords might find a dub a good idea.
