It’s anime adaptation since an official twitter account for the said anime has already been created and ready to go

That is a very short run for a manga that was doing reasonably well.

I wonder what the circulation for WSJ is nowadays with how fast manga are ending.

I can easily imagine most One Piece fans are like HxH fans and only bother with the tankobon nowadays as well.

I think this is great. The series has been excellent, assuming it sticks the landing, Chainsaw man will ve remembered fondly. Honestly, I would compare it to something like devilman. That was only 5 volumes, yet made a huge impact. I hate when these stories go on for so long. I have respect for the creator.

Well, for a long time the conventional wisdom at Jump was that if a series was popular, it needed to go on as long as humanly possible to maximize its sales potential, but it seems like recent trends are challenging that assumption. Look at Demon Slayer; a relatively short series for Jump, but it's their biggest hit since One Piece. And its popularity has actually gone up since it concluded: six months after the manga ended, the movie has become the 2nd highest grossing film in Japanese history.

Shorter series are easier to collect, too. You can buy 10 tankobons and own all of Chainsaw Man VS needing to buy 72 of them to own all of Naruto. So I think maybe Jump is exploring the potential of shorter series, and Chainsaw Man is part of that experiment. The manga will likely get a full anime adaption right after it ends, and we'll see how that helps its long-term popularity.

Damn this ending feels so abrupt but at the same time totally in line with the pace of the series plus they 'did' announce that it was in its final arc.

I guess I'm just gonna miss dumber than a sack of shit Denji.

Though I must say I love Denji's solution for defeating the final boss, really goes back to his 'strengths' and is almost poetic.

Here's to hoping he spends the rest of his life spoiler[happily hunting Devils with new comrades(and a new power/blood devil) Maybe even gather a newfound 'family'. A pity he never got a 'real' girlfriend, Reze seemed like the least volatile(pun intended) of all his prospects]

I wonder if its gonna be an "Ending" and continue with another name.

I always thought it would have a short run thought, the structure of the series doesn't allow for it to last.

I found this information on that new thing they call "internet":

Quote:
Chainsaw Man 2:
Direct continuation of chainsaw man after it was moved from the weekly shounen jump magazine to the online jump plus magazine

So does that mean the "ending" ist just about the movement from one magazine to another, albeit an online one?
