With the Mafayu route done, I think its time to rank the routes. Before I rank the routes I'm going to rank the girls from my favorite to least favorite

1. Mafuyu Kirisu Sensei - One of the most good looking and actually a very interesting character in her own right with a good backstory.

2. Fumino Furuhashi - Just like sensei, she is an interesting character with a good backstory. Like that she knew about the girls affection for Nariyuki and her own growing feelings for him.

3. Asumi Kominami Senpai - Just love the relationship between her and Nariyuki, the teasing senpai was a funny relationship

4. Uruka Takemoto - She is the childhood friend. Not much I felt apart from that.

5. Rizu Ogata - just so boring of a character, no interesting backstory nor any interesting growth either

Okay in terms of route this is how I've felt

1. Asumi Kominami Route - Just wow, what a route. It not only adds more to the story but the growing relationship between Asumi and Nariyuki is just so good.

2. Uruka Takemoto route - If this was the ending for the series and there was no parallel arc, I would have been fine with it. It feels natural and the conclict of Uruka between chasing her dream or staying with the person she love was nice.

3. Mafuyu Kirisu route - The first half of this route was very generic and harem cliche. It does pick up in the second half though and it's the only route to have a wedding and them being married. Also that smile is just worth it.

4. Fumino Furuhashi route - This route is unique in that it actually is a what if story in high school. However, I would have preferred a timeskip route like the others and similar to Mafuyu it takes a while before this route really picks up. I am disappointed we don't see them together as grown ups like the other routes as well so the ending wasn't as satisfying.

5. Rizu Ogata route - I wanted this route to make me see Rizu in a different light but the route isn't even about her, its about Sawako and the ghost girl. It's like the author didn't know what to do to make her character interesting. If there is anything about this route then the fact its in college was nice. It's a shame Nariyuki and Rizu's relationship take backseat in their own route.

I think the "parallel endings" idea is brilliant. I hope more series go this route if they aren't going to go with the actual harem/"guy gets all the girls" ending which some series have gone with.

Mifuyu is my favorite of the romantic candidates in We Never Learn and I love that we'll get an ending for her. She's had the best chapters and storylines IMO. Asumi I rate second, then Fumino, then Rizu, then Uruka.

But honestly, this was one of the few series where I genuinely liked ALL of the potential partners and credit to the author for making them all so likeable.

I also thought the author set up Rizu for a nice yuri ending if they wanted to do that...

Interesting way to end a series. It would be nice to see it animated. I enjoyed the alternate route series like Amagami that showed the protagonist with each girl.

I enjoyed the Amagami approach too. Especially since all the heroines were really likable, making us wanting to support them all.

The quality really varies though. I liked Fumino best as a character, but even I have to admit Kominami's route went above and beyond of what's expected.
