This show is straight-up garbage. Someone introduce the poor fans of this show to some of Nujabes's MCs or literally anyone with actual flow.

I don't think you really understand the point of Hypmic. (And no, I'm not saying that as a "hurr, hot guys anime bad" gotcha.) Hypmic is meant to be a fun, entry-level introduction to rap for a Japanese audience. It doesn't matter how good/bad you think rapping in it is, the point is to have fun with it.

Yes! Hypnosis Mic is worth watching! The anime is fun and entertaining. The songs were catchy especially the ED which is still stuck in my head.

Let it be known that I only watched this because I discovered the Division All Stars song "Hoodstar" in a playlist of Japanese non-anisongs I came across on YouTube one day this summer, and thought it might be interesting to learn a little more about it. I certainly had fun with it and would definitely watch a second season, though I'm still itching to know just how the Party of Words came into power anyways, if it was through a fair election or a straight-up coup.

This show was fantastically fantastic. The "rap" was so bad it made me cry a little bit, but the show was amazing and I'm all in for a second season.

This review gets it. The world-building is paper-thin, the characters are one note and never develop, the plot goes nowhere, and the rap is weak, but above all that, the series is just a ton of fun.
