That's great news. Asano has a solid record of finishing what he starts, but I was a bit worried when the story was put on hold for so long. Some of its eerie similarities to COVID-19 made me wonder if he was pressured to drop it like CLAMP was (rumored) to do with X.

Inio Asano is the one author who deserves an anime adaption soooo much.

This work was the one most likely and being most easily translateable into an anime.

I hope he gets one sometime. Very Happy

his adaptable works apart from DDD are largely incredibly niche short stories. His most known works people want to be adapted like Punpun are hardcore Adults Only works and practically impossible to market in today's industry.

I echo the sentiment of someone that said the only person that could have done his brand animated justice was Kon. I think SHAFT could pull it off too but they're falling apart internally.

If an Asano work were to ever get animated, it would probably be this one. I personally think DDD would work as an anime. Punpun anime is never happening after Asano said he doesn't want it to be animated. Unless he miraculously changes his mind, which I doubt.
