NEWS: Edens Zero Anime Reveals 3 More Cast Members, Key Visual

I still don't quite get how people believe this is nothing but a Fairy Tail knock-off, because it's definitely not. Yes, Mashima's style definitely has a lot of the characters looking the same - fully admit that's something I've had issues with as well, and sometimes still do - but they aren't just entire rip-offs of the Fairy Tail mains. I think people should try to have a far more open mind to this series and not try to compare it entirely to Fairy Tail, because I think then they'd be far more surprised to see how much more depth (and how much darker) this is compared to its predecessors.

But more in relation to this... MY BABY! I love seeing the anime version of Pino. She's one of the sweetest and best characters in all of the series, and I can't wait for her actual debut. Also enjoying seeing Weisz and Homura's anime look, as well as seeing more looks (as they are) of their respective Ether Gear powers. I can't wait to see Homura in action, more specifically. Now I'm anxiously awaiting to see spoiler[the Four Shining Stars], although wouldn't be surprised if we won't see our first look of any of them until we get far, far closer to the series' debut.

I will definitely echo that I hope Funimation picks up this series, though!

I only said the part about a Fairy Tail Knock Off because the main characters are the same.... I know nothing about the story except it is completely different then Fairy Tail story.

Largely, this wasn't aimed directly at you, but you aren't the first person to make a similar comment to this. There's been a lot of people quick to instantly dismiss Edens Zero as a rip-off of Fairy Tail because of the similar character designs (and cameos from the Fairy Tail universe) and the use of the "friendship is the real magic" sort of message that does dominate a bit in the early arcs. At least those had been the two biggest complaints I've seen, but there is a LOT of differences between the two series that people either don't get to because they dropped the series too early or they don't bother to read the series because they have their pre-conceived notions.

I really do recommend reading the series with an open mind. It really is far from being a clone or knock off of Fairy Tail.

I will give Edens Zero a shot, but I'm so tired of this guy's art style looking so copy and paste. At least Toriyama, while having another design style that is instantly recognizable, doesn't copy and paste so...blatantly.

I will judge Edenz Zero on its own merits of course, but when ya have that blue cat from the previous show, why not just, ya know, try a bit harder?

To be fair he did the same thing with with Plue going from Rave Master to Fairy Tail. He seems to like to carry mascot characters over to his next work.

Does anyone think they will ever animate the Hero's crossover manga?
