Oooooh I heard the novel is a lot more expansive than the film so this will be very interesting.

Need more Universal Century manga in the west. This is an incredible welcomed surprise.

Still doubt it will be any improvement unless it dramatically reduces Quess and Hathaway's roles and actually makes the final battle between Amuro and Char a real contest and not a curbstomp.

Oh trust me, It is EXTREMELY different. Quess has a completely different origin and character. Remember, this was written as a sort of sequel to Tomino's gundam NOVEL, where Amuro is not a new pilot for the gundam, as well as being a lot more gritty in tone. More than it already is, at least. Hathaway's flash takes directly after beltorchika's children.

What're you talking about? Quess doesn't have a completely different origin and character. Why don't you read the manga or the novel instead of summaries, eh? Everything still plays out almost exactly the same... and this wasn't penned as a sequel to Tomino's Gundam novel. How could it be when the main character dies in the original? I think you need to get your facts straight first.

The novel isn't any more expansive than the movie. The true experience comes with Hi-Streamer, not Beltorchika's Children.
