Don't worry folks I have good word from Mr. R07 himself that this time it's a real reboot. No need to watch any Higurashi prior to Sotsu. Hope everyone enjoys it!

Not shocking given they don't have enough episodes to wrap up the series in the given amount of time.. All i can say is this, Gou has been been an very interesting ride and this is coming from some-one, that analyzed the series back in 2012.. Hmm That aside..
After watching episode 24 of gou.. yeah it's piecing to together of what's going on. It also reminded of me when I was doing a casual play through of Umineko "modded with ps3 sprites/voices" decided to catch some interesting tidbits at the time that weren't brought up as much again in the VN spoiler[.. No, there's been no real confirmation throughout Gou. spoiler[Some nicknames and/or terms were sprinkled in a few of the last episodes, but no actual tie-ins. ] |

Honestly one of the worst remakes/sequels I've seen in years. Then again it's not like I watch every sequel that comes out; but I did enjoy the original series back in the day.

spoiler[Not the same character. They don't even share a seiyuu. Definitely related to Featherine on a deep lore level, but they clearly aren't one in the same.]

I kind of liked what this show was doing so looking forward to Sotsu, I wonder if Keiichi, Rena, and Mion will be more relevant here since they where pretty much sidelined in the second half of this season
