Oh, well, something is better than nothing I guess... At the very least is good to know that the project is not dead and buried... still, it's frustrating to see how incredibly promising projects like this or Pluto have to go through hell and beyond to get completed (if they are finally made, that is) while we get tons of generic trash every season Confused

I did not expect for this to still be in development, though most likely this'll probably stay in development hell for either a few more years or just forever at this point.

Now that's a name I haven't seen in a long time. I'm still hyped for this if it ever comes out!

I hadn't really expected any movement on this at all after Nakamura passed honestly.

Fundamentally the problem is going to be that, if this ever gets realized, everybody is going to expect the Second Coming.

I'm sad that Ryutaro Nakamura is no longer around to direct it. The works that came after Serial Experiments Lain made it clear that Nakamura was a vital part of bringing about the magic in that series. Abe, Konaka, Ueda (producer) and Nakamura made quite a team.

Looks like he tweeted in response of me.
My opinion, it'll never happen.

"delayed because of the pandemic"¹
There's a lot of money being spend to make more things to satisfy the streaming demand because of the pandemic.
I know that they poor and they depend of someone's else money but they are bad at selling their product and skills.
