Really hyped for this adaptation, we'll finally get to see the art pieces in color.

Sorry if this is a nitpicky thing, but where is ANN getting the "The" in the title from? It's weirding me out every time I see it here. All Japanese sources I've seen simply list it as Blue Period or ブルーピリオド. The "." is pretty iffy to me too--it's present in a small English subtitle on the Japanese manga covers but not generally preserved (there's no punctuation in the main katakana title, or anywhere in the logo of the US release).

Happy to be corrected if there is a good source for this styling! I would just think that the official US release's title would be the one to go by in an English-language news source...

I don't know about the mangaka's and the Kōdansha staffers' intentions, but the thumb-nail for the manga on the Afternoon official site says, 'The Blue Period.'
And the title page for Chapter 1 of the manga says, 'Blue Period.'
Just for your information, lys-san.

Thanks shosakukan, that helps show ANN wasn't just pulling it out of thin air! (I assumed there must be an original source of it somewhere...)

"The" may have been a part of an older version of the logo, not widely used since: the Japanese font in that thumbnail image was used for the title at the beginning of the first chapter (which even then dropped "The" from the English subtitle), but the cover and all later volumes' title pages have a different logo with a graphite-on-paper texture.

And again, the English-language release's official title is just "Blue Period" with no "The" and no punctuation, and maybe I just haven't noticed it before if this is a general ANN rule but I feel like it's a little odd for English-language reporting to carry on the Japanese styling (rather than the official English, when it exists) in the matter of the "."

Well that was disappointing to learn that out of all studio, seven arcs working on the adaptation. Really not a fan of their generic visual style and the staff doesn't look promising either.
