I think it would've been pretty inexplicable for such a high-profile and major series on their service to not get dubbed, but I wonder if they'll add any more. I know Nagotoro seems like a popular pick and I would personally like to see their romcoms this season get dubbed, but I can see how that would be less expected or a priority.

Shot in the dark here...Steve Staley didn't come back to ADR direct Promised Neverland season 2 in favor of Alex von David, so could he be working on this instead like he did for Misfit of Demon King Academy which was also a Crunchyroll exclusive dub?

I remain hopeful Crunchyroll will eventually dub Odd Taxi considering they are co-producing the show and it would really help give it more awareness with anime fandom.

You just announced an english dub and yet you did not announce it for precure this is absolutely ridiculous to leave fans in the dark like this. Come on Crunchyroll
Most likely dubbing Precure is outside Crunchyroll's decision and it would be up to Toei to commission a dub as they did with World Trigger. But Precure fans should probably give up on a dub at this point. The last several attempts to dub Precure shows failed to catch on in the West and with a few exceptions like World Trigger and the bigger shows licensed by other companies like Sailor Moon Crystal and DB Super etc, most of the Toei shows streaming on Crunchyroll are sub only like Gegege no Kitaro. At this point Precure fans should be glad to just have the subs even after how long that's taken. But if Precure doesn't have a new dub by now with three shows now streaming subbed on Crunchyroll, likely Toei doesn't see the cost of dubbing it would be worth it at this point.

it's funny that crunchyroll does not understand that we english speaking fans are suffering due to toei animation's refusal i would like to give a big you suck to both toei animation and crunchyroll for not caring about english speaking fans either they get their act together and dub precure or we will not stop protesting #precuredubsmatter

I feel like Crunchyroll has a lot of cool shows this season that would be nice to see dubbed.

I'm not expecting them to turn into Funimation and dub near everything, but maybe a little more than 4-5 shows would be nice...

what is your problem? Do Crunchyroll even has the rights to make a dub? Besides what makes precure so special?

Anyways, I also really hope there will be an English dub of ODDTAXI. It’s heavy with dialogue and so I feel it would be perfect for a dub.

Just to be clear here, any future posts in this (or any other) thread done all in caps will just be deleted, not edited. There's no call for that.

I think you’re making a lot of unfair and unrealistic assumptions about Crunchyroll’s motives and what they’re able to accomplish. If Toei doesn’t want Precure dubs made, Crunchyroll can’t just force them do it. And like there’s tons of other shows that “deserve” dubs that are still sub only including other Toei IPs. Pretty Cure isn’t any more deserving of having a dub made than those other shows are.

Would it be financially worthwhile to dub Pretty Cure for a platform like Crunchyroll? 50 episodes is a fairly substantial day-1 ask - more than any of Crunchyroll's dubs since moving to a weekly release model.

Pretty Cure is also a show aimed at little girls. By and large, kids don't use services like Crunchyroll or Funimation. That's why Funimation's dubs of Monster Hunter Stories and Puzzle & Dragons were both cancelled. Snack World's dub is exclusive to Crunchyroll in the Americas. A year after launch, only half of it has been released, with its page having a single review suggesting it wasn't seen by many. CR might've been able to justify dubbing kids shows as content for their Warner sister companies (be it HBO Max or CN/Boomerang), but by this time next year, they could be under different ownership.

Pretty Cure fans are loud on Twitter, but I suspect there isn't a tonne of them. Not that this is a great measuring tool, but look how many older shows you have to scroll by to find a single Precure series on their popular section

This one is somewhat debatable because it also fell victim to having Johnny's involved, hence why the second half didn't get streamed subbed either.

And... what does this show have to do with Toei Animation or Precure? Companies aren't going to throw money away dubbing 50-episode Magical Girl series that aren't going to have wide enough appeal to justify the costs. If you continue soapboxing about Precure dubs in irrelevant threads, you and whoever else constitutes "we" can expect to do your protesting somewhere else.

CR has also announced new Neutral Spanish dubs for series including Rising of the Shield Hero and Re:Zero season 2. The weird thing is that Isekai Quartet has not yet received a Neutral Spanish dub despite all of the shows featured in the crossover (Konosuba, Overlord, Tanya) have been dubbed, though I supposed it has something to do with Funimation, which has recently entered the LatAm market but still isn't getting a good reputation (ie. it's only availabe in Mexico, and the long awaited MHA dub wasn't well received, although the AoT dub was seen as an improvement). I don't know what will happen to CR now that Funi is here as well.

Oh, I just love how all of you fighting which anime has to get dubs. Meanwhile, other countries don't even get localized subs for any currently streaming anime.
