I would prefer to see nipples on male bodies. Nippleless bodies freak me out. I was relieved to see Moriarty the Patriot include nipples on the male bodies!

Men have nipples. If you draw men, then you should draw their nipples. Same for women.

I remember Mizushima Tsutomu talking about his anime adaptation of Yondemasu yo Azazel-san, telling about how he was told that he couldn't show female nipples in the show... so he went out of his way to make the nipples on men really prominent.

Legend. I think men should have nipples in anime, just because it looks bizarre when they don't. Like, all the sports anime with realistic muscles but no nips. There's some creature in anime world out there stealing nipples. I do feel sorry for those poor male characters who have lost them to this beast. |

It bugs me when, in a work, female characters have nipples but not the guys. I remember this being the case in Fushigi Yugi for example (although I think since then, Yuu Watase has started adding them to their male characters) Like they'd be super prominent, especially in the Fushigi Yugi ovas. Meanwhile the guys are just bare chests.
It just looks weird when guys don't have nipples. Especially in Free, it bugged me. It's all about shirtless dudes but they look like dolls. |

I think that's kind of the point - add the nipples and suddenly there's an element of sexuality in it. I suppose it's because showing nipples on women has a connotation of sexiness, and male characters are either not supposed to be sexy or even if shows like Free they're supposed to be hot but in a safe, kind of abstract way. Add nipples and suddenly it's "vulgar" (not my words). |

Pro nipple always.
I particularly like how how Kazue Katō draws male nipples in Blue Exorcist. Simple, yet effective.
I would legit watch an anime about this, lol. Also, seconding Mizushima Tsutomu being a legend. <3 |

Schrodinger's nose. Does it exist on the face or not. Only way to tell is have the characters turn sideways, and suddenly a nose will appear out of nowhere. |

The topic of male nipples comes up every so often in the anime figure collecting world, in part because they're so rare. I remember when a certain figure of Kamina (from Gurren Lagann) was announced, and many fans were happy that his nipples were included.
I'm in the pro-nipple camp, btw. They're a part of the body, and characters look strange without them. |

Male nipples... it seems like hardly anything shows female nipples these days not counting the series that are super close to softcore hentai.

I belive that it's less that, and more that we don't think about male nipples, in the same way we think about female nipples. For male characters the muscles are more important than the nipples. People will notice the sexiness and will fell that those characters are cool and handsome, even without the nipples. They can add sexiness, but to a lot of people, just the nice body is enough. This isbecause we don't put much attention in that, when talking or thinking about the male body. Now when it comes to womans, nipples become a important thing, they're part of the appeal, they're the cherry at the top of the cake. Having nipples in the female characters not only adds more sexiness, but gives the felling that you're seeing the whole thing, because we think about nipples when thinking about the female body. Obviously a nippleless body may seem strange, but the appeal still there. We can also say that nipples in guys, sometimes look funny. Since a lot of artists doesn't have a idea about how to put cool or fitting nipples on the characters, sometimes it just comes looking like two pimples on the chest. Also you can notice that characters from comedies sometimes have nipples. Edit: I would just like to add, that I'm pro nipples, in all series. |
