It surprises me that many say they didn't see God of War coming to PS4.

The fact that it was initially announced as 2021 release was a dead giveaway, as obviously such a multi year project would've begun development on PS4 long before PS5 even had initial Dev kits. The fact that Horizon 2 was also announced as also coming to PS4 also cemented the fact that large expensive games in Dev before final PS5 hardware was even a thing would cater towards the PS4 as the base.

Gran Turismo was a surprise as it was initially billed more strongly as a PS5 exclusive and might've been building upon Sport and tends to be a longer seller with support that looked to arrive in late Year 2 of PS5. And it seems it was a last minute decesion, maybe even aiming to scale back for PSVR2 support.

That does leave the question as to what actual PS5 exclusive Sony has following Ratchet and Clank? Which like Demons Souls remake probably works with a smaller budget. I'm guessing that there may be something to those initial Silent Hill rumors.

Also I'm guessing that FFXVI is also going to be on PS4. For spoken and FFVII-2 will be PS5 exclusives coming a long time from now.

Oh, man. That Egret II. I am not even an arcade person and I want one. The rotating screen, the trackball (and dial!), the cuteness... I don't need it, but I really, really need it.

Not sure if it happened late enough to miss your deadline, but SMT V's release date was leaked.

Quote:
Gematsu has a list of some of the developers, and there's nobody I recognize offhand – which is a little disappointing, as I was hoping this might be the long-awaited return of Koji “Cozy” Okada to game development.

Supposedly his name showed up in the Panama Papers. If true, he's probably not going to draw attention to himself.

Of the 4 people teased for Monark, Aya Nishitani is probably the most interesting; he's the creator of the original Digital Devil Story novels, the first of which was Megami Tensei.

Hi... to clarify, Nintendo has stated in its official twitter account that their Nintendo Direct will exclusively focus on software, mostly releasing in 2021: https://twitter.com/NintendoAmerica/status/1400089827501092867
So, better not to expect anything related to a Nintendo Switch Pro.

I just hope Gran Turismo 7 has the offline career mode for those of us PS4 owners with little interest in playing online against real people.

Seems Capcom has landed itself in some hot water after it was found been extensively using copyrighted images from a photobook originally published in 1996 in a plethora of its games, especially in its Resident Evil franchise. Seems it all started to come to light after the late 2020 Capcom data breach;

- PS crossgen: it's dissapointing that games developed simultaneously for both consoles will mean that the PS5 version will not use the console's full potential, but there're many PS4 users in many parts of the world so at least they can play new games. FFXVI will probaly be a next-gen since Square, for better of for worse, always tries to push the latest technology.
- E3 '21: I'll probably just going to watch the Nintendo direct when it premieres, but I'm not expecting much, the Switch Pro rumors lost credibility and the sequel of BotW, Bayonetta 3 and Metroid Prime 4 seem unlikely to come this or even next year. But I'm hoping for a Smash reveal, I'm rooting for Ryu Hayabusa.
- Taito: just hope it includes Puzzle-Bobble, despite being a Neo-Geo game it was developed by Taito.
- KOF XV: as long as the development goes well everything is fine, it understandable considering the current situation. I wish they still reveal some characters from time to time, I want to see Athena's new look, and if Ash, Shingo and the Sports Team can come back.

The GOW delay is not at all surprising. All we've seen so far is that it exists, so there is no way it was coming out this year. I'm not entirely surprised it will also be on PS4. I get the disappointment since I would also want something that showcases the new system, but between the production shortages and the ~115 million PS4s out there, I don't think Sony could ignore it. The problem for them is they went into the start saying, "We believe in generations" and then started backpedaling. They've tried to hedge things with statements about Returnal and Ratchet being only on PS5, but considering the release dates for those, my guess is it was too late by the time they changed stances.

Overall, I can't say I'm at all disappointed by the delay. I expected it and have a backlog of games that I'm sure I'll still be working on by whenever it comes out.
