Maybe the only one who's yet to watch Kimetsu no Yaiba.

LEGENDS. They could basically double average sales of Bakemonogatari when all volumes are out, the previous number #1 TV anime in the modern era.

Did this come with some rewards code for a mobile game like the first season? Seems kinda unfair to compare if most people are buying it for the code.

Not really unfair if it still holds the marketing value to drive the sales that high - nearly all popular franchises anime series disc volumes have all kinds of bonuses inside. Heck, gacha codes at least do something more than lottery tickets to have a chance to get on the idol concert (looking at you, Love Live), and Umamusume isn't that bad on gacha rates and being F2P friendly.

Plus it still needs to put a crazy levels of feat to actually achieve that number of sales nonetheless - cause disc volumes still ain't cheap, codes inside or not.

It's not unfair to compare the cost/value of the packin.

I think the Monogatari Blurays also have some great packins, but it's harder to assign a value to that. If Cygames decided to lower the value of the attached code it would affect the overall sales.

Did first season have a code for the game? I don't think the game was even out yet when S1 finished and BDs started selling.

Granblue Fantasy did though. I'm guessing Uma Musume S2 here does too.

It was, but not for Umamusume (cause the actual game only released around the 2nd season showing on TV) - it was GBF codes.

So are these it? Are these the numbers that makes Uma Musume S2 the best-selling sports TV anime so far? Surprised

I do wonder if this is going to set a precedent on what it will take to get like an original girls' sports anime to be green-lit and have it be part of this larger mixed-media project. I'd imagine that's what's going through the peeps minds when they want to do something with girls' ice hockey with Pride of Orange.

literally 95% (if not all) of the bds of current shows released the past 11 years include either bonuses for their gacha if they have one or live events or both. idk why it would be unfair when all of them pull the same trick.

those numbers are amqzing, iirc the previous best selling tv anime series was kemono friends with 100k, but uma musume lead is pretty clear.
