Is the manga actually ending? Or is it just transferring to a new magazine?
I like Rozen Maiden, so this sucks.

That's really weird. I think if the manga's ending there might be hope for a third season since I think they're holding off on making it because the production people were waiting for the manga to finish. But I could be wrong, and if the manga is ending I hope it will be a satisfactory ending, but I honestly like the anime more than the original manga, which is rare for me since I usually prefer the source material. :\

Oh noes, I hope if it really is ending it'll have a real ending to it. After just getting into the manga I don't want it to end in a cliffhanger of never knowing if Jun goes back to school or not.

I personally loved the anime. So I started collecting the manga. There are enough differences that I find I really enjoy it. The only downsides are the whole Desu switched with Yes thing, kinda wierded me out at first. And I also feel the anime spent more time explaining things, or at least letting us get to know the characters, and I really liked that.
I really can't wait till the next season, I hope it's as awesome as #2. ^___^ You know there has to be another season they totally left it at a cliffhanger so far.

Sounds like the manga may be transferring to a new magazine - sometimes takes a year for that transition to happen - or it may be the sign that that publisher is about to close doors.

I just finished reading the 7th Tankobon, and I got the impression that it was heading towards an end much the same way Traumend did.

Though, considering that Zombie-Loan chapter 50 was supposed to be the start of the next (last?) story arc and it ended up being a generic (if not slightly amusing) date chapter, I wouldn't put it past Peach-Pit to do the same with Rozen Maiden.

Anyway isn't RM one of MCB's biggest series? I can't imagine why the editors would want to end it when sales for manga magazines are dropping across the board as it is.

I seriously hope this is not the end of Rozen Maiden, there are a lot of loyal fans just waiting for what's next. Although there are a lot of new titles sprouting out here and there (and RM may have to compete with these new titles), I think RM is still appealing. Don't know how to say this but I do think RM's story concept needs to be expanded and more dolls added. I'm thinking of anime like One Piece, Law of Ueki, etc. where different characters have specific unique qualities/abilities, those animes usually can go on forever. I'm not suggesting that RM should just copy those styles blindly, but... I don't know about other people, I feel like I wanted to see more dolls and more masters, with various storylines - I think the possibilities are endless. I just think its too early for RM to end! Crying or Very sad

There are seven dolls and only seven dolls (I won't give anything away about the seventh doll if you don't already know).

Sometimes series end, then new series come along, it's part of life. You can always just go back and reread it again if you really like it, and when the last book comes out with a decent ending, you'll get some closure and move on to the next series. I kind of want to see more dolls too, but not at the sacrifice of the story, you know? Of course, that's all assuming it does end. If it goes on semi-permanent hiatus without any sort of ending, a la X, I might have to punch someone in the face.

LOL, ugh sheeesh man don't get philosophical on me although you are right about "If it goes on semi-permanent hiatus without any sort of ending, a la X, I might have to punch someone in the face". All I'm saying is sometimes a series is just so good you wanna read another 10 volumes, y'know? And come to think of it.... why not another 20-30 episodes of Rozen Maiden! And OAVs and MOVIES! Oh yeah! :3 Sigh....

Ah, and now sadly we've seen what Peach-Pit have done.

spoiler[ Laplace makes all of the dolls go to sleep and announces the Alice Game is over. So, if the Ouverture special was anything to go by, the Alice Game only seems to get played once a generation.]

Hopefully that's an Anime only Rule however, and not a Manga one. If its an Anime Only Rule - then we have a hope of continuation, but I doubt it, I seriously doubt it.

This makes me wonder whether Peach-Pit actually just got fed up and decided to really hack the fans off. I mean, with two more chapters they could at least have given it a plausible ending for crying out loud!
