What where the patents covering? I am curious if it is something generic that just developing a game of a certain style would automatically infringe or if it is something more specific.

I feel this is basic information that should be in any news story about patent infringement.

As far as I have seen and understood, I think this type of patent shouldn't be allowed to exist, it's so generic! Reminds me of that time that Apple tried to patent retangular shaped smartphones.

If such basic features like that can be patented, it's possible that someone tries to take ownership of even basic features such as jumping and sliding in games, and that would be awful.
