INTEREST: Demon Slayer's 'Gurenge' Song Composer Earned Over 250 Million Yen in Royalties

These numbers aren't very surprising.

The lyricist for "Cruel Angel's Thesis" (from Neon Genesis Evangelion) has reportedly made close to $6 million in royalties off of that song, and at least as recently as 2015 was pulling in $250k (and sometimes much more) per year. And she was getting a much lower rate than 3 yen per play. I can see "Gurenge" having staying power, so it might hit that kind of total eventually.

That's pretty interesting. It's crazy how much money these composers can make off a hit song. I wonder how much the singers get paid for these songs.
