Two cours??? I thought this arc specifically was gonna have like 11 episodes or something.

Well, this is cool, nonetheless.

I pray to god this does not mean that the first cour will be a re-do of the mugen movie, similar to what they did in dragon ball super. especially that they are broadcasting the movie in tv channels right before season 2 starts. to do that and then show the whole movie again in episodes format will be the most absurd move they can do.

Since Mugen Train is being broadcast on the 26th I don't think they'll repackage it into the season as well, it wouldn't make any sense. Supposedly we're getting more info after it airs.

Nice!
A battle that feminists have lost... or more accurately, no one is going to be crazy to want to censor a story that makes so much money like this.

ps: I'm talking about the schedule. Many Japanese feminists wanted the anime to be broadcast during the day and with that specific parts of the story would be changed.

I don't remember the arc being that long to warrant 2 cours. I suppose it could last for 15 episodes, but 20+ episodes are probably stretching it too far.

My guess is that the second half would cover the next arc, and there's a misunderstanding on the news of the season only covering Entertainment District arc just because it's the subtitle for the promoted next season thus far.

Or well, fillers, some winding down after the main arc for the last couple episodes.

Ok, I definitely wasn't expecting this season to have two cours. I guess this means they're going to be adapting more than just the Entertainment District arc. But when are they going to give us an actual release date? Seriously, they've told us how many cours season 2 will have and even what hour it will be on TV but they still haven't given us the release date yet.

I haven't heard so much from feminists, but concerned parents. The Demon Slayer anime is a massive all-ages hit, but a lot of parents have been concerned about how they're going to explain an arc where the characters go to a red-light district to their kids. To which I say, that's on you for not checking the source material before letting your five-year-old watch an action anime but it is what it is.

I'd love to see some sources on any feminist uproar though.

No offence but can you please take this drama to Twitter or Reddit or something? Yeah, your comment is relevant to the article-ish but I think it’s better to post it elsewhere as you’re just going to cause drama (unless the attention is what you’re going for)
Not to mention you haven’t even provided sources…

Anyways, I hope this season’s pacing is better. I found the entertainment district arc in the manga to be boring at times. Hope the anime improves on that

It not any feminist but rather Fuji station, one of the biggest TV station in Japan. Fuji got a huge viewership when they rerun the series on their channel so now they want a bigger share of the pie. They want the studio to make the series more prime time friendly and changing the story for marketing reason. naturally the fans told them to fudge off.

Feminist critiques of Demon Slayer have little or nothing to do with the article. Keep to the topic please.

I expect to hear about domestic airings very soon. Toonami probably wants to air the show and if they have first renewal rights they will get it first. But I could easily see Netflix paying heavy cash to get it as soon as it’s ready given the show did amazingly well when it got on there.

Either way, it will be available and that is good.

Think it's to do with the arc being set in the red light district.
As others have said I don't see why anything needs censoring as it's not a show children should be watching. Perhaps it was felt it was aimed at that demographic but anyone in their right mind would know from the first episode of season 1 it's not for a young audience.

By the time the first image of the second season came out that discussion started. On the Japanese website yaraon they posted or gave links that guided you to discussions on social networks and there were even materials on Japanese websites whether this arc would promote misogyny (I believe it was on the Oricon website that this article came out),

Animenesnwtwork is a great site and I access it every day, but unfortunately it doesn't cover everything so I often go to Japanese sites to fill that gap. One example is a current hot topic in Japan about Look Back being changed again in the bound version released on September 3rd, this time Fujimoto changed the story to something close to the original. A hot topic that was not reported on western websites.

I didn't hear about the second change, but ANN reported on the first change.
