I think this is gonna be the first Kamikaze Douga 3d tv production, interested to see how it turns out.

Also wasn't this game just announced like a month ago and it's already getting an anime adaptation??

Marketing, my friend. Release an anime to get people interested in playing the game.

That's a lot of characters though, and it's not really clear who'll be party members. But since this isn't a crossover Tales mobile game, maybe you have to gatcha for original characters. But then how would variable party members allow for a proper story... Hm...

Hmm...an anime adaption of a Tales mobile game complete with a dub and English cast? Interesting.

Probably the most Texas VA's in a Tales dub (aside from the Vesperia movie), although I'm starting to think Arise opened the door to just bringing back people who were already in Tales games. Like I think 4-6 of the people here were in the last three Mothership games. Although I'm sure they'll play the characters well.

I wonder if they'll ever dub the Crestoria special.

I've seen other games use this model before; characters are fixed or join you as part of the story, the gacha is for equipment like weapons and armor. Probably other things, too, like costumes or abilities.

ANN(please don't delete my post I am going somewhere with this and it *matters*).

None of these characters are memoriable to me.

They just don't have what it takes.

after: *the game and emotional takeaway I get from this as an individual gamer playing this is the reward I am looking for from the investiment factor*.

Many talk about how storytelling this and storyelling: particulary 'young adult' genre storytelling(reference: podcast Naruto 20 anniversery-look up on youtube) need a emotion takeaways or reward factor; but that is 'not' always the case or *important* for any media, entertainment, fiction of any genre when in the background creating, writting, crafting and finalizng this stuff for masses to be sold too.

Soapbox done.

We literally only have designs. No clue about their actual character or the story they'll be in.

Tales stories are usually interesting because they'll parallel real issues. For example, Crestoria is about Cancel Culture and Arise is about different forms of slavery and oppression.

Why would we delete it?

On a personal note I think it's a bit early to say none of the characters are memorable if you're talking about the upcoming anime. We don't even have a trailer yet. If you want to jump the gun that's your choice, but it seems rather silly to completely write something off before you have even seen a trailer yet.

If you're talking about the game characters being unmemorable, I'll just take your word on it since I haven't played the game. Just the console Tales games. Generally speaking most smartphone games are rather lacking in depth or character development. That's not exactly their main function in my opinion. Plus the platform is much more limited than compared to a PC/console game.

There's no game to play yet lol. The game and anime are going to launch simultaneously (or close to it). Not the first time Bamco's done such a thing.

Also you aren't giving mobile games enough credit. Sure, there are super casual ones out there, but most Japanese ones have fully realized stories on par with any console game.

Isn't that how ALL Tales games are at first? Seeing a random cover before playing any of the games, it's just a mess of unimpressive generic anime characters. But then after learning more about them while playing through the story, the characters become more endearing.
