Smart. They realize you NEVER recast Wakamoto!

At least they got Radhabinod fine, but damn, who is the responsible for changing the designs that much?

Well, of course they don't recast Wakamoto of all people.

Man, I took it really rough when Meiya and Sumika were recast but now they've recasted Yuuko too? I get why but man, they all had distinctive voices that are really hard to match but then again, I guess I'm not really the audience for this.

Maybe the next time it gets into SRW again, they get the OG cast like they did for Demonbane.

Off topic, these character designs in the key visual look so Gundam SEED, does it not?

Demonbane only has one cast though. The voice actors in the anime were the same as the original game.

The least important character is the most accurate to the original. Laughing

âge also held a screening of the first two episodes on Saturday (which is probably why these cast members are now out there). The Type 94 blog has a good write-up, including some episode 1 spoilers (they're marked, so you can stop reading after eight paragraphs or so and not get spoiled): https://type94.wordpress.com/2021/09/25/muv-luv-alternative-the-animation-final-thoughts-before-the-premiere/

There are 3 version of cast: 18+ version, all age version, anime version. Except VA of Paul Radhabinod, ALL characters(10 of the revealed cast members) of the later 2 versions has been recasted. Recasting is not really a big deal.

I recognize more than half of the main 7 cast members, about half of the 11 cast members. If they didn't recast, I recognize none of them. (hence less interest in (anime) characters' voices)

Both the tips of the officer(?) outfit at the shoulders are revised to be as high as the shoulders (Paul Radhabinod & Yūko Kōzuki), which is different from the previous anime: muv-luv total eclipse. Why have they changed the outfit design?

The character design of the games are sharp (way too sharp in my opinion, it looks weird). Anime's are a lot softer than the games. (Never play the games, only watched previous two anime)

Interesting read, though I do think there was somewhere they might have missed as unless I'm going absolutely insane at this point that it was stated it was to be 24 ep but for w/e reason chat logs with friends I have where I swore it would have been isn't there.

All ages cast is the same as the original release actually. Nobody was recast but the thing that did change was the OP and EDs; original release had JAM Project with Asu e and then latter, Name, for the all ages port. Got replaced with Granrodeo for the console releases.

The voice casts have largely remained the same throughout. I feel really bad for Tama's VA though; she did Akiha in Melty Blood and Carnival and got replaced for both the Tsukihime remake and Melty, even though her new VA did an excellent job, it still sucks. Meiya's VA is largely unknown outside of Meiya but Sumika's VA at least reprised Amane in the Grisaia anime stuff.

I doubt this has anything to do with the design process, but I can tell you from experience cosplaying a Muv-Luv UN officer that those shoulder tips are totally unrealistic and kind of a pain to keep upright. Also, their height was pretty inconsistent throughout Total Eclipse, but that goes hand-in-hand with all the other problems that show suffered.

My mistake. I conflated the two game: muv-luv & muv-luv alternative.
Cast of 18+/all age is different in muv-luv but are the same in alternative.

The high tips design is so iconic and memorable.

My mind boggles at the inconsistency because the setting is that total eclipse happened 11 months ago before muv-luv alternative. Now suddenly the uniform is different after 11 months.
