I realize I'm extremely naïve when it comes to how the entertainment industry functions, but how much time do you honestly need to be more inclusive of movies from other countries and those that feature a more diverse cast?

If someone offered to pay me a decent chunk of change to watch foreign flicks and write a short narrative of what I thought about them, I'd sign up for that. Beats commuting every day.
