This is honestly the first time I've heard anyone actually even try to refer to this game as "bad". Maybe a bit underwhelming & uninspired in terms of gameplay, sure, but not really bad. I mean, even the scores at the time looked to have averaged to around a 7/10, i.e. "it's perfectly fine". Maybe Heidi meant to call it a "bakage", since that tends to be the general consensus I've been seeing about it: "It's a decent enough game, but it's absolutely dumb & stupid in all the best ways".

Bobby would've been gone already if this story was covered by mainstream news, instead of just the gaming media. The board of directors is made of a lot of family friends, which explains a lot about why they want to stick by him. I don't think he'll last much longer though if the stock keeps tumbling like it is. Getting rid of him is a just a start though. The company needs to complete change in it's leaders.

I mean, I could say I'd never support Blizzard again but I've already been doing that for over a decade now. Blizzard became an awful company long ago and hasn't released a good game since like 2010-2012, depending on how forgiving you want to be towards Starcraft II. Towards the end of the Mists of Pandaria expansion for WoW, they were already on the way out. Warlords of Draenor and Diablo III were the silver bullet that killed them for a lot of people and it rapidly got so much worse. This whole fiasco is just the cherry on top of the sundae.

That threat from Microsoft is interesting but ultimately there are too many big franchises blizzard releases to actually sever ties.

Also nice shot out to binary domain, that was a really underrated game.

This is sort of my reaction, too -- the ongoing Blizzard news is grotesque, but I'd already given up on their products on a quality basis a long time ago, so unfortunately don't have much more I can avoid. I never really got into WoW, and was disappointed even as early as Diablo II (which I felt completely failed to deliver on the atmosphere that had been most responsible for the Diablo I experience); by the time we fast forward to the power fantasy of Diablo III's main character, or the blatant Diablo-boss-copying in SC2, I was just primed to expect an increasingly poor understanding of their own work. Not that they were all fundamentally unplayable, or anything; I just don't think any of them lived up to the promise of their predecessors, and generally betrayed their spirit in significant ways.

In any case, that's left me with little in the way of Blizzard products to further sacrifice, though the coverage has been bad enough (the line about "cube crawls" from a prior ANN article has stuck with me..) that I'd do so, if I could.

See, I was already not very interested in Blizzard's games for a long time. When Kotick started doing stuff like laying off 10% of their work force for no good reason, or the whole Blitzchung thing, I already decided they would never get my money.

This new crap is just confirming that. No game is worth this kind of nightmare. I swore off Darksiders because of THQ Nordic's dumb 8chan stunt, I am not afraid to go play something se.

I do not want to get into trouble with the moderators, so I will keep my comments about Bobby as tame as possible. He should be hanged, drawn and quartered.

^^^^^^^

And Bobby's got a face you'd love to punch. Or I'd say he deserves to get crushled in a car crash.

-Burn it to the ground and salt the earth: Seriously, there is nothing here to redeem or salvage. I knew about Kotick trying to ruin someone who sued him for sexual harassment, but the death threat was a new one. The only thing that has a chance of getting him out is the stock price continuing to decrease, but even then I could see him sticking around out of spite. I would also tell outlets to maybe stop covering ActiBlizz titles because they don't deserve the hype.

-MultiVersus: Looks neat, but if HBO characters are gonna be in it then I demand we have Larry David, Al Swearengen, and Jeff, the Diseased Lung in a Cowboy Hat.

The Warner Bros Smash games don't really interest me. Was the Nicktoons game actually good? It looked like shovelware to me and I thought people were just being ironic memers hyping it up. Seems like it completely fell off as soon as it came out and people moved on to the next joke

I don't really play their games (besides the first Diablo way back in the day) but this news cycle about them has made me put Blizzard on my boycott list all the same. They're in good company there.

- Activision: haven't played an Activision game in ages and I'll probably not going to play a game from them now, not even the Crash, Spyro or Tony Hawk games. I feel sorry for all the employees and people that have suffered for years by Activision's actions. I don't know if it could be possible that the major gaming companies could sever ties with Activision, but titles like CoD are so important that it'd be impossible, not to mention that it would affect the developers that had nothing to do with company's wrongdoings.
- Multiversus: this actually looks pretty cool, and at least it seems that the developer has a higher budget than the Nickelodeon's platform fighter. The only thing I'm worried about is the microtransaction aspect. It also surprised me that the game has a Neutral Spanish dub and that many characters are voiced by their recurring dub voice actors, and while the dub is made in Mexico, where most WB properties are dubbed, Steven Universe was dubbed in Venezuela but they did manage to bring back Garnet's voice actress but not Steven's (he instead is voiced in Mexico by the same actor who voices Mikey from Tokyo Revengers). Also, Bugs Bunny isn't voiced by his current voice actor (instead he's voiced by Kirito and Muzan Kibutsuji's voice actor)

As much as I am normally adverse to the "burn it to the ground" mentality or approach, in this case I think it is what needs to happen. There has been simply too much damage done there in so many ways to ever get the stench off. The only chance for the people working there is to move on. Maybe form a new company or completely rebrand after purging the waste materials (people) there. Even if the board of directors fired him now they already showed their true colors. That company is not worth saving at this point.

Get rid of Blizzard; save Activision; give me the _Chopper Command_, _Grand Prix_, and _River Raid_ sim-level games I've been wanting for *FORTY YEARS*.
