Silver Link once again delivering on an Isekai story people would probably have dismissed at first glance before watching a pretty strong premier and first set of episodes.

I'm looking forward to getting to know the rest of Lugh's team after Dia.

Really enjoying this series so far, but (at least based on the intro) we won't be meeting the hero this cour. That implies it will only be adapting the first volume of the light novel, which adds up with the current pacing.

I enjoyed the first episode but the second was just non-stop gross mom fetish stuff. I knew I wouldn't be able to continue around the time his mom stuffed his face in her tits for the second time. Somehow it grossed me out even more than little sister stuff. Maybe because I don't have a sister.

Anyways, I'm wondering if that stuff continues past episode two, because I'd love to be able to pick this back up.

I want to like this show but it's really hard since there is so many generic Isekai stuff (and it doesn't make it better with that annoying Rookie, Goddess and Mommy. Hopefully I won't be seeing them most of the time) Confused

Honestly the sister stuff is actually pretty accurate for siblings and overall that scene didn't bother me much since there wasn't anything sexual unlike what you'd get in Mushoku Tensei with the same scene. The mother stuff though is cringe and from what I was told spoiler[she gets even worse later on though those worse parts won't be in what the anime covers. For an idea of what 'gets worse' is it's 'At the start of volume two she keeps checking his room in the morning to see if he had wet dreams. Lugh then uses this is a springboard to spend 2 entire pages complaining that his servant girls make him too horny. Volume 2 went to some weird places']

But I guess I shouldn't expected any better from the author of Redo Healer.

That's a bit harsh. Redo of Healer is by far the outlier of the author's works. This series and that one have almost nothing in common.

Weren't people using the same magic system in his former life? It struck me as odd that he seemed to approach it all as if it were a totally new thing to him (aside from the basic concept of magic existing). As a world-class assassin, I'd think he would've at least had some basic instruction about magic in his former life, even if he had no aptitude or enough mana to use it in practice.

I was also a little unclear about Dia's role in the world. Ok, bestest mage in all the land, but she's privy to knowing who among the kingdom are the super-secret assassins? They were just so casual about that it was weird. Is her job then specifically to teach magic to assassins for the king? Is she an assassin too?

@ Leviathonlx1: were you talking about Dia when you say there's no sexual stuff? Because their relationship was drenched in sexual subtext, especially the scene on the log.

I don’t remember any magic in his former life. I thought he was from Earth? (Granted, I did watch a helluva lotta premieres so I’m sure I missed some details)

Yeah, that was a bit much for me, and I was surprised the reviewer didn’t mention it. I really didn’t mind the mom-motorboating—that was just silly—but the magic “sexy times” was pretty sketchy. Aren’t they supposed to be, like, 7 and 10 in that scene? Yet, there she is on the astral plane (or some such), looming over him naked with her surprisingly-developed-at-age-10-boobies dangling over his bare chest. Just saying . . .

When his cohorts freed the girls being auctioned off, the platinum haired girl (who looks a lot like Dia, actually) casts "latem etaerc" to produce a key and "elfir etaerc" for her rifle (and also magic to fire it and to interfere with their pursuers, iirc). Which is exactly the same reverse-English spell he used when he made a rifle in this life.

Finally a new life to be whatever he wants, free from the life he previously had. What, born into an assassin family and raised to be one from birth? Oh, ok...

Jokes aside, I've enjoyed what I've seen so far. The core drive of needing to kill the hero (but only after he does his job) is interesting.

The two week training session seemed pretty short, but I guess if you just need to know the basics and then the rest just comes to you on it's own as you train, there's not much more to learn.

Him knowing the specific gravity, melting point and atomic weights of all these elements is a bit of stretch, but I appreciate the idea that there's science at the core (even if using our numbers wouldn't make sense for another world).

I do have to wonder how that translates to a complex item like a gun or cannon though, unless those are merely shells that look like those items (hence the need to use magic to fire) to produce a similar effect.

Ah, I get where you’re coming from now. That intro is showing a future event with an older version of his reincarnated self in this new world. Pretty sure that was, in fact, Dia.

Ok, had to go back and look. There was zero indication in the first episode that there was a transition point between world-lines from when he was lining up the shot to kill the woman, and lining up the shot to kill the mafia (which is a great visual transition, but an onscreen hint of some sort that we were switching worlds/times would've been nice). I assumed it was all one operation, with multiple team members working inside and outside the mansion at different locations and thought it was a transition from one part of the team offing the mansion folks to where he was offing guards outside.

If I'd have recalled they were driving a VW bus instead of a carriage, I might've figured it out sooner. Wink Like you said, too much new stuff being jammed into my head from multiple debuts for me to sort it all properly. Thanks for clearing it up.

Happy to help. The only reason I could help was because I, myself, had the same issue while I was watching the episode. I looked up (okay, maybe I was crocheting during the premiere) and I was, like, where did these earth military guys come from, and I had to rewind. Laughing

Gross. That is so unappealing. Good to know though, I'm out.

The Goddess delivers Tarte to Lugh and he makes the most of it. Lugh basically brainwashes her into being 100% loyalty, showing off how he's still cold, stoic, and mission-oriented, but I think at the end of the day he grew to care about Tarte and gave her a better life (albeit one where she has absolute loyalty to him and will do anything for him, including becoming an assassin).

So it turns out Lugh isn't the first person the Goddess has reincarnated to kill the Hero but he seems to be the only one making progress. How many people has she done this with? Have they all either died or become NEET's? Is the Goddess secretly a cosplayer?

Living at the Tuatha De has done wonders for Tarte's looks, growing form a destitute, hungry, girl to a very attractive young woman and maid, and she's already being more aggressive than Dia.

So the Tuatha De have gender-equal naked physique training.
