Was disappointed with the picture quality, even looked blurry at times. Oh, well, maybe I have been spoiled by the couple ufotable movies that I watched in theaters last year.

I had no such experience, so it may have just been the theater you were at.

Considering how little it was advertised outside of the anime community, that it was subtitled, and how theaters were only carrying it on one screen if they carried it at all, I'm not surprised by this kind of result. I'll definitely go a second time if they put it out again in dubbed form.

I saw it in IMAX last Saturday and thought it was great. There were only six or so other people in my screening, but the theater was running six showtimes everyday all weekend.

The English dub is available in a different theater near me, but only for one non-IMAX screening each on a couple select nights this week.

Blurry? That's definitely an issue with the theater and not the production itself.

I thought the movie was decent, animation and plot-wise. But it probably won't appeal to anyone who is not already a fan of the series.

Im pretty meh on the franchise, but checked it out since it had an imax showing. It actually far exceeded my expectations. I guess at the end of the day asuna is a far more compelling protagonist than kirito

To be fair he gets better as the series goes on but he was definitely designed as a typical self-insert OC.

Had no picture quality issues at our theater.

Loved the movie. Great expansion on the background information and how Asuna got to where she was before in a party with Kirito. Looking forward to more Progressive movies.

In my area (Puget Sound) it opened on easily eight theaters across the metroplex, and had multiple showings across multiple days. In fact, there are 26 showings across 13 theaters today - Dec 8th. About a third of them are dubs. (There've been dub available all along, we saw it in sub though.)

There were only six of us in the theater when we went last Saturday afternoon... But with ECCC going on, I suspect most of the people who might have gone were at the con.

Hmmm, I don't remember seeing any dub screenings listed locally, so I thought it wasn't out, but I guess I'd better check to see if I missed something.

I may see the dub version if it ends up playing in my area.

Happy to hear positive things about this. I liked the Progressive LNs more than the original series, but I was a little hesitant with them adding what looked like a new central character for the movie. I don't really care if they make changes as long as the results deliver though.

The movie just opened in Australia (yesterday), and was screening 4:45pm subbed then 7pm dubbed at the only cinema in the state showing it so I was only in time for the dubbed version today and may try to see the subbed version later.

Good use of music in the movie and the English voice acting seemed up to the visuals.
