More like "as it was", cause FGO passed its prime days a long time ago and now is on the steady decline because of the lack of new interesting content and new big competitors like Genshin and Uma Musume.

Actually, it's because of exactly that Aniplex acquiring it now - because FGO is on the decline and they not have any other hits to recover from flops like Sakura Wars Revolution, DW is currently in shambles and losing their workers.

If this acquisition means that they can finally change the English localization for Saber to "Artoria" then I'll be all for it! Hey, one can dream right?

The Altria mandate has never had anything to do with DW, so...

DW is definitely in shambles after stuff like Sakura Kakumei for sure, but oof at saying FGO itself is past it's prime ahaha. Never drops outta of the top 20, usually within the top 10, and whenever it drops new story content it soars cleanly right past Uma Musume. Genshin and Horse Gals are defs the more consistent and more modern money makers, but we'll have to see if they can stand the test of time like FGO, and even stuff like Granblue, have.

This isn't even mentioning the Arcade version, which has boomed lately:

Wasn't that less of a DW thing and more of a Type Moon thing? I thought the orders to localize her name like that came from the mushroom itself.

As I understand it, it was supposed to be some kind of gag that Nasu was trying to make with the spelling. One nobody in the west got, at least.

Meanwhile, maybe things are changing. The Artoria spelling is used in Melty Blood: Type Lumina.
