So are they every other month currently? Also 100,000 copies? I don't know a lot about the publishing industry but isn't that pretty massive? |

Print number is different than sale number. Anime Insider prints more than that but we don't sell them all. And comparatively speaking, the top magazines in the US (like Time and Better Homes / Gardens) print millions.

saisho: Yeah, but printing enough for people to find copies is what matters, which is why I'm baffled that I couldn't find any of copies of O.U.S.A. on the rack.

I have nothing of value to add... just that I'm disturbed that amongst the very small number of Hintz's in America, I'm not the only one involved in anime haha. ^^; Weirded out.

GATSU I think it's a West Coast kind of thing I went to two Borders and a Barnes and Nobles and wasn't able to find that magazine anywhere. After asking some of the employees they said that they hadn't heard of that magazine nor had it in stock, they suggested coming back on Friday. |

I've seen copies at both the B&N down here (Bloomington, IN) and, much to my surprise, the supermarket. Though the fact that there is a misspelling on the front cover has got to have somebody at the magazine kicking themselves...

I had a chuckle at the cover mistake when I picked up my copy, hee. I wish I could have turned it in for a journalism class I had where mistakes in publications got you extra credit if you were a copy editor and found them.
Most of the mistakes I turned in came from the issue of Protoculture Addicts I picked up. Anyway, I can't wait to read the magazine, but I'm saving it for work tomorrow when things are slow. |

I realize you intended this as a dig at our magazine, but I'm fully aware that there are mistakes in PA. That doesn't mean I can't have a short laugh when someone else does it. |

Nah, it wasn't a dig at all. There are tons of publications that have mistakes in them, just none of the other ones I did for my project were anime-related so I didn't mention them and the majority of them came from a magazine. I remember one was from a Harry Potter book, etc. I'm a copy editor for a university newspaper and mistakes always get through no matter how many editors check and double check them. It's a fact of life, although sometimes it is hilarious one so no one should have a problem laughing

Indeed, no one is completely infallible in that area. I always enjoy catching the occasional flubs in Entertainment Weekly. You just hope you catch the majority of them or they're things no regular reader will notice. But it's exceedingly more embarrassing when the error's on the cover (and on the contents page too, in this case) and it's a title as popular/well-known as this one.

Lol, that's a pretty funny error right there! Anyway, like Delta, I also live in the western US. I went to both of the Borders, both of the Barnes & Nobles and even the one Waldenbooks in my area and none of them had it. I didn't bother to ask about it though. So I went to Otaku USA's website, and it doesn't appear that I can order a single copy, I can only subscribe. *sigh* I guess I'll have to go back to the bookstore(s) and ask about it then. |

Found 'em at last at a B+N near me. I'll consider it eventually. The topics on the cover seem kind of generic, though-reminiscent of Animerica more than anything else. Although to be fair, they sound a little less shallow than the ones in the latter mag.
