I was wondering how they'd handle the dub for this.

I'm curious if they'll do another trailer with Daki and the wives' English VA's.

deMarco stated in a recent Twitter AMA that they weren't cut off of streaming it from Sony but the success of the Demon Slayer movie made licensing cost for the second season too expensive for them to afford.

Which honestly is only a good thing for dub fans outside the US, as well as Americans who don't have a cable subscription. I'm fine with Toonami getting dubs as long as they stream elsewhere right after (like AoT) or beforehand.

I would like to see Bang Zoom make a far greater effort to bring in more union voice actors who work in western animation into the dubbing fold. The Entertainment District Arc dub would be a competent place to start in this department.

I'm just not sure where the claim Sony is blocking Toonami from getting Funimation shows came from when even just recently they got Assassination Classroom, the final season of Attack on Titan, and One Piece.

I doubt it affects all future Funimation shows from being aired on Toonami and it's just that Demon Slayer made a ton of money thanks to the Mugen Train movie and paying an astronomical high price of the series would be difficult. I don't know why Sony is doing this to just Demon Slayer or all Aniplex shows.

It came from DeMarco's original tweet of the situation back in December.

And the Q&A you brought up was a month after that.

I wonder what change since DeMarco's original tweet unless he meant something else by "freezing us out."

The first season had Steven Blum in a guest villain role and gave Crispin Freeman a supporting role he will likely reprise. I wouldn't be surprised if they take on more union actors, including ones that are "above" anime (due to Demon Slayer's influence and the fact that some are appearing in Funimation shows and movies), probably as the Upper-Ranked Demons.
