Man these Kenshin films really tell me that live-action can be good. I often wonder what franchise could work.

Period dramas might be more easier and forgiving to adapt than something like Dragonball or Mars Sci-Fi. I assume if people from the literal periods saw them they'd have plenty to complain about...

Totally deserved for Belle and Rurouni Kenshin! Smile

I swear there are only a few that I would rewatch, even more for liver action films. Watching these for the first time, it is an immediate 100% yes so good that I'd rewatch it!

Blanchimont I actually agree with you as well. It's easier definitely since historical TV dramas are very common as well. They definitely know what to do. Smile What I do love about Rurouni Kenshin live action movies would be the distinct 'what-in-the-world' footwork/aerobics that Kenshin does! It's whoa Shocked

Kenshin has it easy because all you have to do is remove some of the more fantastical elements and you're more or less left with a simple samurai story.

Honestly my biggest criticism with the ones I've seen (first two) would probably be the fact that they don't provide much reason to exist outside of the novelty of seeing this story done by real actors.

Well deserved for them both! The Kenshin films are freaking great and I recommend them to any fan of the series. Sadly I found Belle to be very disappointing overall but visually it was pretty damn great.

To me that statement applies to all live-action, none of them are actually necessary. The Kenshin films are basically the only live-action I’ve ever liked.

I remember that when Psycho-Pass premiered, the staff said that they should a work that could easily come across as a live-action. It might work since it's basically a cops drama but those giant guns could be altered if they ever decide to a make liveaction

Monster would also work well as a live-action but I know that will never happen.

Also just noticed both kenshin films won awards, to me kenshin the beginning was much better.
