I am so down with this.
(ahahaa, They're "middle aged," yet they're all younger than me...)

In Japanese pop culture if you're over 30 you're basically an ossan... I guess women get to be oneesan for until their later thirties. This grated on me so much in Tiger & Bunny especially, where one of Kotetsu's main character beats is that he's an "ojisan", a "middle-aged man" and has this "older man who's experienced in the way of the world and whatnot" thing going on... and he's not only not the oldest in the hero group, he's not even 35! The same age that I was at the time! What!

Anyway, there's a few "ossan become idols" manga out there, but I'm glad to see an original anime production! I just hope it's not going to be the kind of "extremely safe, no edge or grit whatsoever, light comedy" type of show I expect it to be.

None of these dudes look middle-aged.

I guess they are by anime standards Rolling Eyes

Wait, I thought Kotetsu doesn't have a canon age!

It wasn't mentioned in the show itself, but the writer or director said it in an interview or something - I don't remember exactly where - that he was in his early 30s. It was also mentioned that he was closest to the age of Inoue Gou (SkyHigh's seiyuu) who was 33 at the time.
