The LN sounds fun, but I agree that the timing could not have been worse. I have struggled with reading some older manga due to mentioning viruses or even just the word pandemic. I feel bad for the marketing, since the story sounds really cool and enjoyable but may not get the best possible sales due to the content.

If you can watch movies of airplanes crashing, while riding in an airplane, then this manga will present to no problems to you.

I found the art nice and the story interesting, so I am going to continue buying future volumes.

Eh, it could be worse. Like the music band who had to pull their planned album cover art of the twin towers caught in explosion just before release, because real life caught up with them...

Considering how many people were watching Contagion in spring/summer 2020 I'm not sure that many people will care about the subject matter to be honest. I'll give it a miss though, Curb Your Enthusiasm and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia are the only pop culture I want to see reference viruses/pandemics
