Always great to see Conan do well, makes waiting for a possible US release even more highly anticipated.
FYI, we’re still waiting for The Scarlet Bullet’s US premiere as the November 2021 convention showing was cancelled. |

I am not sure if you mean people will be more excited or if there is a higher chance of it getting a North American release. I am always excited for the films but always incredibly cautious about how wide of a theatrical opening it may have in NA if at all. Conan is safe franchise, they don't like risks. They make so much money domestically already. In their traditional markets like Taiwan and Southeast Asia, they make plenty of money too. They have pushed for the Middle East in the past few years and it is going fairly well. France got a push last year and clearly it did well enough to get a very wide release this year. Even Australia and New Zealand got theatrical releases last year after a few years limited to film festivals only. NA is an important market for sure. But at this point, we are at the back of the queue. The state of the franchise in NA is not good. We may be 1-3 years away from a limited theatrical release and 3-5 years away from a wider theatrical release. |
