As expected but still delighted to see the news. If I remember correctly, this arc in the 90s underwent the most significant changes. Wonder what they are going to do this time considering they have stuck to the manga more this time.

Very excited to see the outer senshis!

I was not actually expecting us to get not only the Stars arc announced already but to also have a trailer ready to go! The Stars arc is one of my favorites in the manga so I'm really excited for Sailor Moon Cosmos! I'm kind of sad Chiaki Kon won't be able to direct the final arc of Stars but so far I think the new movie looks beautiful! Please bring Mitsuko Horie back as Galaxia. That's all I'm asking for from the casting.

A split-second of Galaxia and I am ready to cry for a week.
It all looks too beautiful to be true. Thank you, Toei, for treating this story with the dignity it deserves.

Worst manga arc, worst 90s anime season (after episode 172).

They can change the director, the animators and even the janitors, nothing will make this good and I expect it to be worse than Eternal was since it will have the exact same pacing issues due to the 2-movie format.

And so will end this over 10 year reboot project, started bad (especially at the end of Dark Kingdom), got good at one point (season 3) then got disappointing and stayed that way until it's end.

Man, I'm excited to finally see Heavy Metal Papillon, Lethe, and Mnemosyne in animated form. At least potentially.

OMG I can’t wait to see the Starlights as they were meant to be seen as women both transformed and untransformed! And we finally get to see Sailor Cosmos animated!

Yeah, I don't why in the anime the Starlights were physically male in their civilian identities, in the Neutral Spanish dub they were voiced by male actors as the Three Lights and then switched to female actresses as their true identities as the Starlights. Speaking of which, for the Latin American dub Seiya/Star Fighter and Taiki/Star Healer will need new voices since their original actresses sadly passed away. Unlike the Japanese dub the Crystal's Latin American dub managed to bring back almost everybody from the 90s anime for their roles.

I bowed out of the Crystal reboot, and despite telling myself many times that I'd go back and check it out I haven't been motivated because of the mixed to bad reception. I say this because I have no idea what the OST is like, but I'm guessing the vast majority of it is new music. With that in mind, I have one request:

Can we please make an exception and get the original Sailor Stars theme for when they transform? That track bops and is a catchy favorite of mine: starlight!

It makes sense they'd finally adapt the final arc, but I'm curious how it'll go over this go-around since they'll be adapting more faithfully to the manga. I'm also guessing it'll end up on Netflix like the Eternal movies.

That's a beautiful key visual.

supposedly Naoko Takeuchi really hated how Toei handled the Stars arc in the 90's(though some say she never liked all the liberties Toei took adapting her work in general back then),especially their idea that the Starlights are literally male when disguised(and to her, that breaks the rule that only women can be Sailor Scouts.).
Supposedly that's also the reason why Stars was never brought in North America during the Dic/Cloverway dub days because by the time they tried to bring it,Naoko had taken a tighter control over Toei's decisions with the franchise, including licensing them overseas(which is why the franchise spent pretty much the entirety of the 00's unlicensed in the west)

Unfortunately I cannot get exited for this because of... well... Eternal. Those two movies were terrible. Pacing issues, story issues, character issues, animation issues, you name it, it had it. I could live with it, because the 90s anime, though focused more in Chibiusa, still told basically the same story (albeit far better then having Nehelenia be a random evil entity). Cosmos, sadly, will have nothing to back it up and will probably be just as bad. This reboot has been very poorly treated. The first season was abysmal. It did everything wrong and then threw a CG transformation in out face just to be sure we hated it. It got a little better in season 2, but it was still pretty bad. Season 3 was the best. I was really looking forward to Eternal after that great showing, but alas....

Aw, I was hoping Kon would see it through to the end. Sad But Fueyasu and Tadano returning has me optimistic it'll still turn out good. The trailer looks great, and while I would've preferred the series format, Stars is one time I think a movie adaptation could work. The arc moves at such a brisk pace and has such a cinematic scope that I think it'll work better as a film series than Dream did.

Sadly I'm 99.99% sure they'll replace Mitsuko Horie as Galaxia. So far Crystal/Eternal has recast EVERYONE outside of Moon, and even the seiyuus that did return from the 90s anime played a different character this time around. (like 90s Esmeraude becoming the new voice of Queen Serenity) I don't see why they'd make an exception for her when they didn't anyone else. But I do agree it would be lovely to have her reprise.

Personally, I would like that they cast Megumi Hayashibara as Galaxia.

I always felt that she deserved more in 90s SM than that Himeko Nayotake role.

I've never been impressed with any of the modern Sailor Moon projects this one likely won't be any better or richer not terribly interested in it.
