It's interesting that gunpla are doing so well at the moment when there hasn't been a mainline gundam show since IBO S2 (2016). Things might flip now and people will start watching the show because they've brought the model rather than the other way around.

Anyway I hope the hobby keep increasing in popularity cause I love the plastic crack. Maybe it'll become so popular they'll make an TR-6 Inle kit! You've release a 6 pack of kehaar 2 so you have to Bandai!

Even without a mainline Gundam TV show, Gunpla still had lots of other media to draw from, not to mention making better kits of older models. Just compare a modern 1/144 High Grade Universal kit to an old 1/144 from the 80s kit of the same mobile suit and you'll see a world of difference. It's amazing how much Bandai has upped its plastic model game since the 80s. A couple other of the Japanese model companies have been following Bandai's lead by coming out with snap kits of their own, but they have yet to manage the same quality that Bandai has.
